can't connect to messenger or peer-to-peer apps (legal talk only please)

hi all i cant connect to a certain p2p application nor messenger its rather bizarre im on mac osx, and connecting wirelessly via a netgear dw834gt.

it hasnt worked in a while but i finally got round to looking for the fix, this is why i am here, anyone help at all?

any ideas?

What ISP?

Are you running any firewalls? Sounds to me like it's securely locked down.

as for the firewall i dont think i have one running.

Have you used port forwarding on your router..

Is your MTU in the router set too 1400 sounds like the issue I had when I was with aol
