Afternoon all, what do you see as being the media of choice in 10 years time?

Was having a discussion with my dad over christmas and we came to the conclusion that it'll probably be flash media or similar?

Any thoughts? :)

I still think optical media (CD, DVD, HD-DVD, blu-ray) has the advantage of cost per MB, as well as being in a form something people "understand" and trust as such.

Many people think that a lot of things will simply be downloaded via the internt. The problem with that is that at least at the moment, the cost and infrastructure required is prohibitive to offering HD content that way.

Thats a very good point - bang for buck - optical media is much more cost effective at present - but as technology progresses who knows!?

I also agree with the internet issue - you've only got to read articles from the BBC, Sky etc comparing the difference in speeds and availability of those speeds in Japan and the US compared to what we receive in the UK.

Definitely something to keep an eye on.

Cheers for your posts guys - thought this might have been a bit of a debate - but obviously not! :o
