And then gave birth and conceived again as soon as possible and then repeated the process until the menopause. How much would she earn in benefits? Joke.

How many children do you reckon its possible for one women to mother?

Can't say, it would depend on the life expectancy of the woman. Alhtough I can imagine that after 5 or so the term "wizards sleeve" would come to mind.

so thats a baby every 9 months for 40 years?

40 x 12 = 480 months
480 / 9 = 53.33r

thats just 1 baby a time as well, twins etc could pop out at any time!

well, there are case of women giving birth to over 10, many case. my nan was one of 7.

as a rough example, say...girl reaches child bearing age at 14, no children after 53.... thats 39 years / 468 months. assuming she conceived 1 month after she gave birth, thats 46 children. give or take lol

The most prolific mother in history was a Russian peasant who had 69 children in the 18th century, 67 of which survived infancy.

Between 1725 and 1765, she endured 27 multiple births, which included 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets, and four sets of quadruplets.

The modern world record for giving birth is held by LeontinaAlbinafrom San Antonio, Chile. Now in her mid-sixties, she claims to be the mother of 64 children. Of these, 55 are documented, birth certificates apparently being something of a less-than-serious concern in Chile.

As soon as I submitted that post, I realised that I should have never responded to that particular topic. Sorry moderators. :(

Back on topic.....

The question is, why would you want to conceive that many times and surely it is unhealthy to a certain extent?

Well, if that family with 6 (edit: 12 is correct, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=470335&in_page_id=1770 ) kids (iirc on Daily Express (edit2: Mail) news article a couple months back) can get a £500,000 council refurb housing because they "needed space" to live - husband is claiming disabled benefits due to bad back, I'm sure the family can easily work up the millionaire route with that many kids (40 to 69 are the numbers provided up there so far:p) - provided there isn't a clause in the Home Office that limits the amount of benefits maximum?
