Anyone here with Bell car insurance?

oh for gods sake, what are you disputing here? the fact that when speaking to Bell and asking them to add DOC to my policy, and they changed the policy type to suit so i can drive any other car, which will result in the policy wording just like what has been posted above.

or are you disputing the bit i said about the other vehical requring it's own valid insurance certificate?

edit: if you actually read the OP, you'll see what the questions was weather or not the DOC option lets you drive other cars, or if you need to ring them up and tell them when you are driving other cars.

It starts to get annoying when the same incorrect information about DOC is posted on an almost daily basis. What possible relevence would another policy have on a vehicle if you are driving it?

because if you have DOC on your policy then that covers cars you are driving, so if you drive a car somewhere - park it up, and get out then it is no longer insured.. which means it cannot be legally left on the road.

..that was the point i was trying to get accross

And its wrong, AGAIN. Just stop posting. This gets posted almost every day.

well how about explaining it instead of getting your knickers in a twist about a post on a forum?

how is the car still insured?

Because it gets posted _ALL_ the time. Every single time this is explained. Its _SO_ annoying.

Argh. OcUK rage.

well i've searched, and frankly got bored of the jez/fox attack on people who aren't blessed with guru knowledge of insurance.

now i know it might be difficult for you, but can you explain how if a car is not insured, and i drive it round to my mates house (using my perfectly valid DOC), if i park that on the road outside his house and go inside - how is that car insured? why would my DOC still cover it?

It is covered against third party mishaps only (which is the requirement of law) by the person's DOC cover whom parked the vehicle, until such time as it is driven away by another driver.

This is the case with all of the admiral group, direct line and all companies which seem to be underwritten/use the same system, and norwich union. I have no experience of any other's.

Well does that mean if a vehicle is taxed then anyone with DOC can drive it? Wouldn't you get pulled by ANPR?

Yes and yes.

You then produce your insurance certificate with its DOC extension to show you are covered to drive the car.
