I'm getting together a new rig and have set my heart on the Samsung 24" monitor - but the question is - what gfx card to power it??

I am going t o be playing game on it - and want things maxed (if i can).

Was initally thinking of 2x 8800 GT OC in SLi or would one 8800 GTX be better?

your thoughts would be arppeciated.

I'd say buy a GTS 512Mb, or you could pay the little extra and get a GTX :)

I have an old 7300GT powering a 1920*1200 (24") display lol, CSS is only the only game i can play at that res! lol.

but yeh either of those would be fine i guess, im staying away from the GT atm unless they get better coolers, or better still wait a few months for a 9 series GPU ! :P lol

Matt

2 8800gts will be faster than a single gtx in games that utilise sli, whereas at higher resolution the higher memory bandwidth of the gtx will be faster plus youll be able to use higher amounts of aa/af. you may be better of with the cheapest single 8800gt you can find and maybe upgrade to the new gtx when it comes out
