Tonight I was browsing a Focus parts site when I came across the "Non Smokers Pack" I noticed it seemed to feature a draw that pulls out to store coins or sunglasses etc.

Then I thought "hold on a minute" mine looks like that, sure enough I have some sort of little pull out compartment I totally didn't realise I had during 1 year of ownership, and it's been sat directly at me all this time

OK so it's only a drawer but I'm surprised to find another "hidden" secret on my car that has been sat staring me in the face all this time. I simply thought it was just a plastic placeholder for the ashtray, needless to say I do feel a numpty for not realising :D

Anyone else ever found stuff they didn't even realise they had?

I didn't realise I had a data port under my ashtray.

I was upside-down in the car trying to find it when we were on the Ireland road trip.

An openable arm-rest took me about 3 weeks to realise it opens.. I keep my drugs in there.

Found a load of extra features in a menu i didnt realise existed on my computer, stuff like lighting durations

The word is "drawer".

About a month ago I realised that if the hazard lights don't flash after locking the car, it's an indication that one of the doors isn't closed properly.

Lord It's late go easy on me pedant ;)

Interesting on the hazard lights. Mine flash when the car is deadlocked after two presses of the remote.

Yeah mine doesn't lock at all if that's the case :)

Along those lines, I only found out recently that it locks again after like 30 seconds if you unlock it and don't open a door, this was most irritating to find out when I unlocked it then carried as much crap as I could hold out from the house to put into the car :(

I put a room temperature bottle of drink in my glovebox and got it out later and to my surprise it was ice cold. Bonus!

Ironically it's just about the only impressive thing in the entire car and I found it by accident.

i remember my mate when he was selling his saxo vts he was geting his break pads done and only then realised he could pull out the middle heaters so you can redirect the heat after having it for about 2years :P

I realised you could open/close windows etc with the key fob! Also that there was a rechargeable torch plugged ionto the car in the glovebox several months on!

Would not want it to break really so good stuff :P :o

Automatic heated mirrors .... never knew I had them until I saw steam pouring off the mirrors when it was icy a few months back. Turns out under 8 degrees they come on automatically at different stages of heat.

Can't think of anything on the MR2 that took me a while to discover. More than a few people with sunroof models have had their cars ages without knowing that you can remove the sunroof glass and stow it under the bonnet though.
