Hi,

I am thinking of buying a HD TV and my pc is 10 metres away, does anyone know if a HDMI cable and RCA/phono cables will be ok to run at this distance?

Will there be any loss of signal and can you suggest a brand of cable?

are you running the rca cables to the TV? If so, why not just let the HDMI cable do it all?

RCA cables (decent ones) are fine at 10m, but if you are putting them into an AV receiver, jump to optical out or SPDIF if you can.

Why dont you just buy some pc speakers and connect them up to your pc, even 30 pound ones willbe far superior to any TV speakers.

I have video from pc>tv through dvi>hdmi, whilst audio out my xfi music through z5500 speakers.

well in the long run i will be installing a home cinema system but for now i just want to be able to view video and sound via my pc to the tv.

So is the general consensus that the best way is a 10 m HDMI cable and 10m RCA cables?

I wouldn't have thought a Graphics Processing Unit won't have much influence over sound.

He's right, if he wants to send video and audio over HDMI you need a graphics card with that supports audio out via HDMI.

Yup sounds like the simplest and cheapest way.

Cheers EVH but how will I terminate the ends to connect to the TV.... Are there special adaptors you can buy?

I dont have any special crimping tools.
