I am Legend

He didnt kill the lioness out of mutual respect - at the end of the day he was doing exactly the same as her, except she got there first...

Is there currently a zoo on Manhattan Island btw, in order for there to be a lion and deer on the island 3 years later?

Excuse me for being a complete **** noob lol, but what does it mean by ground zero? I thought that was something to do with 9/11 :p

ground zero just refers to where the **** hit the fan.

I quite liked it - if you look at it as an action film with a heart then it's good. Anything more intelligent is a bit over zealous! I felt like it was perfectly paced until
the dog died
but after that it just went so crazy-fast I didn't really know what was going on. I'll give it a rent to see if it's any good a second time but I don't think it's a buyer

Because he had a lab there, he was relatively safe, he had a steady supply of test subjects.

Initially I suspect it was purely down to the fact that was where the work was (the first infected), and later on because it was the only lab he knew was still working and stocked with the right materials for his work, and he was fairly safe.
If he had left after that there was no guarantee he would ever find a working lab (suited for the work), and taking a huge risk as he would have needed to find somewhere he could secure every night.

There is a zoo in central park but there aren't any Lions. Couple of Polar Bears though :p
Isnt it obvious they were in one of the containers on that ship for the same 3 years? :p

I think he stayed at ground zero because he personally felt responsible in finding the cure (why else did he stay behind after his wife and child left) - with his deteriorating mental health I guess its the only thing that kept him going and gave him purpose or a shred of normality...

If he left ground zero. he effectively gave up finding a cure...

6/10 at best. Really disappointed after seeing the trailer a week before the film. At only 91 minutes long it could have done with another 30 minutes filling in the blanks. Especially with the initial 'outbreak'. There was plenty of room to explore this area but it was rushed buy with some dodgy flash backs.

Its such a shame as I had high hopes for this :(

Same here, I can't believe all the people saying "amazing film, 9/10", did they watch the same film as everyone else, or just not have a particularly detailed appreciateion of films when they watch them? Started off very well for me with the sense of loneliness and forbidding quiet, but the second half was close to dire and the CG effects were completely atrocious, it's a real shame.

Well thats obviously your oppinion. Different people like different things, and if they found the film to be 9.10 so be it. I went to watch it again today, as my mates hadent seen it. Only one of them didnt like it :)

Agree... You just have to look at this film in comparison to other films to realise that to award it 9/10 just isn't right.

Kinda reminds of people giving 300 10/10, and that was even worse than this.

you won't be disappointed.

I was.

Though I did like the little "in" bits the producers put in, like the Batman & Superman billboard plus the "time" magazine on his fridge which i'm sure it had the black us president candidate on it.

Cinematography was nice, though IMO they spent to much time on it it, you can only have deserted New York so many time.

Also didn't like the ending - I dont want to spoil it for anyone - so i wont go there.

People thinking Star Wars Episode II was a good film does not actually mean it was a good film, it was still a bad film. For example, just because I think Hollyoaks is good does not make it a good soap. Subjective opinions only go so far.

A great film IMO, although I probably preferred the Omega Man.
Also a lot of what people are claiming are plot holes are intentional, ie Will's character is wrong about so much, but I guess the director and I thought that was pretty obvious. It's certainly better than when they treat you like a fool and smack you round the head with the answers, ala the last 10 mins of One Hour Photo.
