Looking for a car like 350z but 4 seater :/

well since you didn't know any facts about your own match box car i thought you should know tbh that the s3 is a 10k more car for no reason but the 4wd system!

And the Audi quality interior and exterior. I've been in the new Leon and I've driven the Audi and they are like night and day. The Leon is a sea of cheap nasty plastic, the Audi isn't exactly the best built car in the world but its far better than the Seat.

erm not really all the tuning garages say the same seat nor audi are going to admit they are they same engines but in different states of maps it was the same with the old one the s3 came with 225 the cupra r with 210 same engine remaped the same as the l8er newer 225 just that after 2 years audi let them put the normal mapping on same for this one!! if you remaped yours and a cupra or golf ed30 got his done you would be at the same 300-315 output!!

That doesn't mean they provide the same stock output, which is the point. The only place that's claimed they provide the same stock output is cupra.net, I have never seen it claimed anywhere else, nor do the timed figures for the leon match the idea.

here you go another post from another forum and a rr graph before and after from superchips and the car owners own rr printout

Same as me :)

Unfortunately he said in his first post he didn't want an RX8. I guss he's just being sensible, it's nice to see a young lad with a head on his shouldners - clearly seeing they can't handle such a performant cars they decide to omit it straight away :D

Have you got a comparison graph of an S3 and a Leon (and a GTi 30ed) run on the same rollers on the same day?

Random indivudual RR graphs (especially of corrected flywheel power) do not actually tell anything useful. RR graphs are used for comparison purposes, and as such, graphs from different RR locations aren't comparable. It's entirely possible that the RR is optimistic, and this would be represented in higher results for all cars....

hey i think your living in a dream land tbh but hey thats up to you i don't own any of these hatchbacks but people who do apart from you know the differences as well as other s3 owners so think what you like tbh! just remeber when ure on the road and one takes over you after 30 thats your car but 10k cheaper but then you could by a 3-5k fiat coupe or m3 and be faster so makes no differences !!

You're entitled to your opinion, of course. You'll just have to provide more evidence than you have to convince others of it. If what you say is true, then when magazines do timing gear tests, the leon should be as quick as the S3 or at least the Mazda 3 MPS, and yet it hasn't been. Claims of a consipiracy to keep Seat down won't really cut an explaination for that given how critical and objective motoring magazines generally are.

As some has said, a monaro is quite a good option for you here.

Having driven a 350z I was actually really disappointed in the performance. It felt lardy, didnt seem to ever want to get going, and didnt inspire confidence round corners.

The monaro was a great car to drive, and I drove it a few times for an hour or so at a time, I drove an 06 with the 5.7 engine and it was a really nice piece of kit. Loads of room in the back aswell !

I like the idea of a RX8... i've had a test drive in the 192 first as it has a really good special offer at the MK dealer...

Mazda RX8 192ps Brilliant Black,
RRP £21725 - Pilling Offer Price £18995otr. Save £2730

Deal link here

Unfortunately the RX8 192 redlines at 7500 which kinda defeated the point. 9000 RPM was nice i could prob squeeze the budget for a 231 but there were 2 limiting factors. Extremely high petrol consumption - i can over look this for a truely great performance car however the fact that the engine was fiddly and if you didnt switch it off / unflood it properly would mean a trip to the garage scared me off. I cant be dealing with the hastle lol. Also i read posts that ppl had a fairly hard time shifting on their RX8 wheras i think a car like 350z would be easier (if i got the 350z etc.)

You'd have to go for the 231, the 192 just isn't in the same league as the 350z while the 231 will keep up.

Fuel consumption is heavy and it is a great drive. Flooding...i've flooded it once - I turned it on and then immediately off to take a phone call :(

As long as you don't do that you'd be fine!

surely the RX-8 231 would deliver similar MPG as a 350z tho? Did the op say he had 0 years NCB also?? I'd be going for something cheaper for a few years instead of throwing money away in insurance premiums.

The 2.0T S3 will offer similar performance.

On paper maybe, but they both drive completely differently. Whilst comparable in some ways, there very very different cars, anyone who says otherwise is trying to kit themselves about something.

Same rollers however assume on different days produced 265bhp from a S3 and 244bhp from a ED30. Just have a look on there webpage, these are the very same rollers that ran a 200ps Leon and got 196bhp from which is 1bhp under rated. Even in europe the ED30 and Cupra have been hitting a fair chunk above the quoted standard figures.
