Hi,

I'm looking at the Samsung SM-226BW 22" LCD and the SM-2232BW Pebble LCD monitors. They seem to be getting good feedback / reviews. I only need good gaming response and general purpose and these seem to do the job.

What do you guys think? The prices is pretty good as well.

Cheers,

Yao

Let me know what you think after you've used it for a bit.

I've just read some slightly negative feedback in other threads about backlight and poor build quality.

initial impressions.. crispy. i think my eyes are bleeding.

3 stuck pixels tho, will worry about those later.

Hmm im stuck between these 2 as well :P I decided not to go for 24 inch now but 22, and the non pebble and there seems to be less border, especially the bottom.

I have a 223BW which i couldnt be without anymore! Very similar to the other one you posted but this has a slower response rate due to some overdrive feature in the 226bw monitor.

Mine did however come with a stuck pixel but after a few days of looking for different solutions i finally solved it by poking it with a PDA stylus! Very technical solution!

I've had a 223BW for a while too, which is very similar to the 226BW. It's perfect, 22" is just the right size, 1680*1050 for widescreen is great and it has no dead pixels or backlight bleeding. Couldn't be happier with it tbh . There's also no ghosting in games or films so I wouldn't worry too much about response times on any of the Samsung ones.

I thought the only difference between the 226 and 223 is that the 223 has a 5ms repsonse time and the 226 has a 2ms? I thought the refresh rates were the same though. Correct me if I'm wrong of course :).

No you are right i phrased it wrong, i have the 5ms 223bw, the 226 has the quicker 2ms panel.

226BW

Hi there, i have the 226BW and have to say it was a vast improvement on my 19" crt, not sure about the panel lottery but mine is fine, no backlight bleed, no ghosting during game play (COD 4 all settings on max) and movies look awsome at 1680 x 1050.:)

I think I'm decided on the 226BW.

Just concerned about getting a decent screen out the box.

Sadly OCuk can't tell which panel they sell, so I'm a bit stuck.
