The greatest single moment of your motoring life

evo didnt get nearly as sideways as you.

He actually went wide just off camera and put his two nearside wheels on the grass (you can see him just touching the grass when he leaves the shot), cracking a suspention top-mount in the process

Finally coming to a halt having lost it at about 40mph at the top of a hill on a dark, rainy night and then sliding 150yds down a steep road, sideways, with a 3ft bank of earth whipping by inches from my bonnet while I prayed "Please don't hit, please don't hit".

Maximum brown trouser moment followed by blissful (if somewhat shaky) relief.

2. (Slightly illegal) - Hooning around in my old 206GTi, 115mph, empty country roads, catching air off what turned out to be a large dip in the road. Stupid, **** myself, and never to be repeated...but the memory sticks out :D

That has just reminded me of an experience with my Fiesta 1.6 Si!

Going round a country lane with my sister in the car, just as we were approaching a bend I told her to hold on, and she kept asking 'Why?', each time her voice rising in pitch.

I rounded the bend to be greeted with a long straight road going uphill, but also a long straight road going dowwwnnnhill. :D

I booted it and she started screaming semi-laughing (making me giggle like a little girl now), got to the bottom off the dip, starting to climb up the hill at about 60mph which was more than enough as we go to the top of the hill and TOOK OFF! :D

All four wheels come off the ground for a good second which suprising feels like a very long time while you're up in the air and landed with an almighty bang.

My sister was crying with laughter still screaming.

Good times. :)

A few come to mind -

Driving a 22B at 16
My father letting me have a go (including going sideways :p) in his R32 GTR before having passed my test at 17.
Getting my EVO II at 18, first spirited drive up Brecon! :D

edit - also the feeling when the instructor said "congratulations, you've passed" - even though someone had managed to rear end me (in my own car!) on the first roundabout of the test!

Hard to define just one single moment.

Passing my bike test first time back in 1989.

Then, subsequently getting my first large capacity bike ( a GPX 600R ) and riding off on it away from the dealers. Bliss!!!. :D

Another bike moment that will be forever etched in my memory is getting my first big V-Twin superbike after a long diet of inline fours. I still have it, the RSV that is.

However I was also very chuffed and proud to pass my E.F.A.D. for the first time when I was 23. :D

i remember the date

5th may 2001.

singe greatest drive of my life (was in a pug too). coming home from uni, there is a good 26 mile run as i go from the town next to where i live etc with lovely roads

9pm, usually its busy but by some act of god the roads were dead, even where is was meant to get busy it was still empty

i think it was 26 miles in 20.5 minutes.

best drive of my life, definately not the fastest, but it was lovely. i have chills on my spine thinking about it now

Getting a knowing nod from my Examiner during my LGV C+E / HGV 1 test having perfectly carried out a "Blind reverse" - the hardest part of the test imo.

Having got the hard bit out of the way, I went on to pass. :)

Passing first time with just 2 minors and getting some excellent driftage out of my punto in the wet!! pure fun!!
