always had problems with my 680i reference(msi p6n) board and things seemto have got worse now ive just fitted my new 8800gts 512's.

contemplating the 780i board in a hope that this board will be more stable.

i thought the whole fun was to overclock etc, but things have become frustrating.

Either that or i ditch 2gb ram and vista 64.....:(

wots every one else thinx?

I know this isn't much help but this is why I believe going for the more expensive Abit or Asus boards is always better. My Abit 680i board has worked flawlessly from day 1. Not saying MSI are bad, but best to research boards that have the least amount of issues.

Anyways, ensure you have the latest BIOS, latest forceware drivers, and everything is correctly setup for SLI. You could always try installing XP instead to see how things go with that, I still use XP and its lovely at the moment, fully mature, pretty much no issues.

yes agree definately.
i have a number of factors which could and are causing problems i know, the main one being that msi dont even list this board on their web!!!!!!
i didnt realise this when i got it 6 ish months ago, ive always had msi stuff.
And so bios updates etc have been from other manufacturers.
XP is very sweet i agree, and i have it running on other systems with no probs at all.But i like the bells n whistles :D
It gets to a point when you throw in the towel though, it becomes more frustrating and you seem to dig yourself in deeper.:(
I just wondered perhaps the new 780i might just be the answer that we have all been waiting for.
But definately a major manufacturer board is the way to go after this journey.
Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions.

Heck, my lads ps3 is so damn easy to use these days......

I too am eager to see what the 780i boards will be like, but obviously best first wait for them to come out and give it a month to see what the reviews are like ansd how people are getting on with them :)
