hey all

please could somebody give me advise on what cases have reputations for being good cases for water cooling

importnt info

i am new to the whole water cooling thing
i have an antec 900 case

q6600
4gb 5400
8800 gts 640mb
620w corsair psu

thank you

Lian Li G70 is very popular. Silverstone TJ-09B has the huge advantage you can fit two radiators without doing any cutting, most cases can be made to work, but some are harder work than others.

The Akasa Eclipse is a very easy install for a 120.2 radiator, but much harder for a 120.3.

hi thanks for that mate :)

do overclockers sell these cases? i am struggling to find them on the website. i can only see the g50.. is that not as good?

thanks again

For an intenal setup you want pretty much anything other than Antec :p

Depends on your budget and wheter you want it all internal - good watercooling cases can range from £20 (beige full tower server case off eBay) to £200+!

The Antec 900 can work as a WC case.

Sorry for the poor quality but done on a Nokia Camera Phone - really need to replace my digital camera :-)

I think i'd rather go and burn £200+ in my fire than actually pay the price for one of those... waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced for what you get.

down to personal choice really, you get a lot of room to fit your WC in plus fans galore for good air movement.

i myself would choose a V series Lian li thou

I'd rather do that plus take sand paper to my goolies and then dip them in salt and vinegar than pay for a MM case. Shame only a few people ever get to see the PC343 in the flesh as it wouldn't be a contest. :)

LoL, and I'd rather dip my testicles in battery acid than pay over £200 for a case that I then have to take a dremmel and jigsaw to, to make things I want fit - each to there own I guess.

I'll agree that they are overpriced and don't come with a great deal, maybe thats because they are not manufactured in huge supplies like the bulk of mainstream cases but there are few other cases that can house as many rads (PA 120.3 and a 120.2 and a 120.1) with no modifications. I do like your case mekrel(great build log btw) and the work you have put into it is fantastic but imo it would be a lot of hassle for a novice for what is still essentially a cube design. With the UFO there is none of that, everything just fits and works. You like the anodised effect, I prefer powedercoated. When I initially went for the ufo I wanted something a little different that didn't need extensive modding to fit as much WC stuff as I wanted. The UFO fits that bill nicely. Sure the UFO, or the PC343 for that matter, aint for everyone but if I had to decide between the two I'd still go for the UFO tbh simply for its ease of use.

Judging by the OP's request for a case spec this will be his first watercooling build and as such it is unlikely he dosn't have much, if any, modding experience(sorry to OP if I have misread you!). Watercooling for the first time is nerve racking enough without having to mod a case aswell.;)

mozart tx *** i got 2x pa 120.2''s in mine
only 100 quid ish and i could get a 3rd lop in easy

win win

I would recommend the Lian-Li 343B

Buy the rails to mount a 120.3 on the right hand side vertically, stick some Scyth Kama bays in front, buy the 120.2 roof panel and mount a 120.3, and a 120.2 without any modding.

You still have 9 bays free in which to mount disks, pumps etc

If you feel brave and can track it down then you can also get a Dual ATX PSU mount, I have spoken with them and they are getting a Dual PSU starter cable in as well so can start both at the same time without having to build my own. Will be ordering one at least, possibly a second as a media storage server.

Not cheap but an excellent case to work in and no modding for your first watercooled build.
