Hi, I’ve literally got £900 sitting in front of me begging to be spent on a new TV :) I'm unsure for what to go for tbh its a mine field out there  My main requirements is that Sky SD and Free view (TopUPTV Box) look superb, I’m not into HD so am I correct in saying Plasma would be the best bet as this seems to be aimed at SD? If you had the above to spend what would it be?

My choice would be http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AV-038-SA I can pick one of these up for £890 which seems crazy for a 50' decent plasma!!

This would be an upgrade form a Sharpe Aquos 32' HD LCD, will be picking the new set up on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Thanks.

Ive seen the plasma up and running (sammy 50" one in that url) and its pretty good! great value for money imo!

Yea your right and it seems your completely on the right track, plasma's surely the way to go for SD and i bet nobody could say to you that your not getting value for money with that one.

The samsungs are nice, but I prefer the PQ of the Pannasonic models, that budget will get you a great 42" set, how far are you sitting from the TV?

Best bet is to get down to a decent AV shop and check them out back to back. I found the 52" just to big for my living room, and I also went from a 32", the differance was staggering.

The panasonic tvs ive compared to the samsungs are better. You really do get what you pay for in the plasma tv game, and the panasonics are the best value. Granted the pioneer kuros are better, but at nearly twice the price.
