Amir Khan gets busted for speeding in an imaginary car

surely thats a bit of a lenient sentance considering he was doing 140mph and has a previous conviction and ban?

It means 630i not 360i.

That maybe so, but its not what it says - i'd contest the sentence, he cant have been driving that car ;):p

Its not just the BBC either, search 360i in google and you get all the news sites come up with that story haha

Its funny. All over the news was the shooting in Liverpool.

I first read it on the BBC news. Gold Range Rover, silver Focus. Then on Granada (ITV) news shes stood right next to the scene and there are some extra shots of the vehicles etc. The Range Rover is clearly silver and the Focus is clearly green. She even stood there and said "Gold range Rover and silver Focus".

Also, the other day I saw a BBC new post with a pic of a crash. It mentioned a 106. The car was clearly a 206. I'm glad i'm not a journalist if I'd have to be so inept about cars and read a scripted live report with clearly incorrect information with the evidence sat right behind me!

He said: "I did not drive that fast. I am not a fast driver.

"I am pleased to get this over with and I have learned my lesson. It will never happen again."

How can he have learnt his lesson, if he denies that he even did it at all? How will it never happen 'again' if it supposedly never happened in the first place? :/

He gets hit in the head for a living...

I suppose, that's never going to bode well for the probably limited intellect he started out with.

Hehe I know, reason enough not to believe what the media tells us. If they cant tell what colour a car sat behind them is, what rubbish are they feeding us about stuff like iraq :p

I do like the guy as a boxer, but seriously, like all these damn celebrities, it is one rule for them, one for us.

If it has been Jim Nobody that had been doin that sort of speed, also serving a ban he would be in prison for sure with a heftier fine than that and banned, maybe not for life but for a long time.

Same with damn footballers, they start a fight cause some other violence (Bowyer, Barton etc) and all they get is a slap on the wrist. Disgraceful

Rant over.

Very true - I completely forgot about the punishment he got in the "excitement" of his car :p
It is a joke how they get away with seemingly everything, pete doherty is a good example - walks out of court every week!

Hes as bad as the rest the little ****.

Hes a good boxer, but as a person he sounds like a complete and utter ****.

Pffft, for knocking someone down he should be banned for more than 6 months, and driving and speeding whilst banned, and getting only 42 days? justifiacation?

beyond me..

Did you ever see Ahmir Khan's Angry Young Men?

He was far from a "complete and utter ****". Absolutely ridiculous that two police officers in a car going at 155mph on the speedo isn't enough to prove that he was speeding lots.

No comment about the sentence for speeding as I don't know anything about speeding law. However, he should be getting a lot more than he is for knocking someone down whilst running a red light.

The thing that worrys me the most about all this is two coppers driving a Vauxhall Vectra at 155mph. I would say that is far more unsafe than 140mph in a 6 series.

Coppers with proper advanced driving training in a Vectra VXR are more dangerous than random member of the public with a flashier car? OK, if they were doing it because they felt like it, its wrong, but if they're responding to a problem, whether thats some idiot driving at 140mph or someone's been stabbed, whats the problem?
