I want a synthesiser...

Edit ok I made a post with links then remembered about competitors :D

I think you'd be happy with an M-Audio Oxygen 8 V2 and Fruity Loops Studio 7 (rainforest)..

Both together come in at about £110 which is the best you're probably gonna get..

With FL you'll have access to loads of sounds and also have a very competant recording package if you want to get into that.

Yeah plus 1 on what Maccy said to be honest, but if you see yourself wanting to record some of your tunes then FL Studio will be a good path straight to that.

The Legacy synths are great but y'know, there's plenty of ways to 'acquire' them eventually. (Like saving up!) :)

Thankyou..i'll start browsing and i'm sure i'll be back to post more questions. :)
Question time...

M-Audio Oxygen 8 V2: Could i just buy that or do i really NEED the software? And software..FL or Legacy? Or are they both different?

Legacy acts as the 'sounds' and FL acts as the 'recorder'

There, hows that for simplicity ;)

Also, I've used MiniMOOG before, and that's ace.

All the M-Audio keyboard is is a device to send on/off signals out to your computer, it like all other controller keyboards is just that - a controller.

The benefit of which is that they're cheaper and you have a very wide range of sounds available to you, downside is that you need a computer there to host the sounds, or some kind of rack module.
