I rang the freephone retentions number this morning to try and blag a new k850i, like I do every year. Current contract is:

500 Free min anytime (rollover)
500 Free text messages
12 Months (which is up)
£20 a month - I know its a good contract

Told them three offered me the same but with a free phone what could they do. Best I got out the guy was same contract and 130 quid for the phone then he gave me my PAC number request :( Going to try again tomorrow and see what they say. I might consider paying the silly price as I can still get 60 quid for my k800 on ebay

That is a nice contract! How you manage that in the first place? I just renew my 12 month contract because I've got all the things that you don't get unless you spend about £35 a month on an 18-month now. Doesn't bode well for my impending upgrade though, wanting an N82 for not very many pennies...

Hmm think I might just pay it and sell the k800 on the bay - final cost to me around 60 quid, not too bad really. I got it from being with them for 5 years and every year telling them im going to leave ;)

I managed to get a good deal the previous time I upgraded, but they weren't having any of it last year. Been with them nearly 4 years now, can try and use that I suppose.

For that contract, id expect to pay about £60 for the handset. Its never going to be a free though on a £20 a month contract with O2's current stance on deals.

I got my w910i for "free", but my contract went from £20 to £25 (500/500), so obviously i pay £60 for the phone over the course of the contract.

The best deal going at the moment is a free K850i, 600 any network minutes, 1000 text and free O2 to O2 calls. £25 a month for 18 months.

Realised the N82s are now available on the site, think I'll leave it a bit before I try for one with the prices they're quoting!

Nope, I threw a strop today and got mine for free.:D
Customer for 12 years, always paid on time, been offered a better deal to leave blah blah blah. Have a bash. Tell them youve seen it free with hmm lets say dial a phone. Worked for me.

How much are you paying per month? I've been giving them £30 for almost 5 years now, but won't find a deal that gives me it free for that much per month :(

It's not available on another network at the moment either, so I can't threaten to switch!

I am paying £30 a month plus the £7.50 bolt on for WAP.

I told a fib and said id seen it in the newspaper with "dial a phone" for free. (it was actually the n95, but hey it worked) I quoted them a similar package as i ended up getting, and just swapped the name of the phone. Try it. Go and see my last post in the n82 thread to see exactly what I got. They arent going to call you a liar, and you can say your staring at the advert now, just be nice and friendly, and do the loyal customer for blah blah years routine. Failing that say they just offered it to a mate (me!)
:D

I'm not getting a lot per month in 200 minutes and 500 texts, but I'm only on a 12 month contract, which I like. I'll give it a few weeks then give it a go. Might test the water in the shop first, see what they would charge me without any haggling so I know what work I've got to do when I ring them up :p
