My Asus A8 m/b supports sata + ide raid

i cant find much info in my manual about the IDE raid set must be out of date
how do i get to use my IDE H/D with the IDE RAID function ?
to set up RAID "0"

any advice please thank you:)

Cant you look in the manual or if you have not got it download it from www.asus.com
its all explained in there. PS upon boot up off my asus mb p5wd2, cannot remember what keys as Iam another Ps1500 wireless PC, u press ctrl and ? it should pop up on screen during boot up, which then takes u into a menu for the process off raid :-)

It would have helped us both if you could have posted which A8 it was !

Thanks for your input
my appologies for not offering the complete board No. - Asus A8N32-Sli Deluxe

i tried the different buttons (Cntr + S / or F4 ) (also F6 to go to floppy i think)several times to open the RAID utility I did update the bios and wonder if the update changed the way you use the RAID set up ?
wonder if the manual would have more recent coverage?
Many thanks

Turn the RAID function on/off in the BIOS. And you'll need at least 2 hard drives to start using RAID.

Start by getting this PDF http://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket939/A8N32-SLI Deluxe/E2280_A8N32-SLI_Dlx.pdf then goto page 85 4.3.6 then read it print that page and page 98 , then save the pdf then Reboot your PC when the post screen comes up press DEL button to get into the bios once in goto the relevant screens u printed out when done, save bios changes then reboot then that should get u a post for the raid etc ...

i know i will need 2 drives + i have 2 x 250 Gb drives
(new though not identical 1 hitachi + 1 samsung)
this may be the problem - as I have yet to connect both drives - but the RAID not openable doesnt help
I have software within windows now i.e silicone image -SATARAID5 program

can i just add the 2 nd drive or will they need to be formatted first so they start at same level when loading XP ?

many thanks
