Hi guys,

I recieved my Lumix FZ50 today and have been playing around with it. Syke has been helping me as much as he can and I've achieved better shots with his help.

Can you see where else I need to improve with these shots? Should I have more or less aperture? Does the ISO look ok?

I haven't gone outside with the camera yet but looking forward to it. I'm not really impressed with these shots and feel I could have achieved similar results with my digi camera but maybe I'm expecting too much. I guess it doesn't help it being a black dog!

I know there nothing special, I'm poor at focusing on a specific object, should the dog be so in "in your face" obviously the kitchen is a poor location too :p

Ah well, can only get better :)

I think the 1st one captures the subject best, though the top has been cut off and its not level. The lightin also seems too strong on the floor (guess that was from the flash?). Reduce the depth of field a little an that would be a very nice pic of your dog imo.

Cut the flash and use a tripod :) ....or if there's enough light just cut the flash...get a nifty fifty

I don't like using flash on subjects that close to the camera and I think light from incandescent bulbs gives a very nice atmosphere to these kind of shots.

i'd like to see him try and change his lens on a bridge camera ;)

me stupid

on the other hand, the lens on that should go down to an fstop comparable to the nifty. so still fine for indoors without flash :D
