Been told by BMW my rears are amber and will need to be changed soon.

Whats the cheapest way to get new tyres?

By online then get someone to fit them?

What do you lot do?

Depends what you have, for me I found savings of about £40 if I buy 2 sets however I usually need 1 set.

I'd go with a national fitting company that has a good rep round your area, a local one nearly wrote my car off and the dealer charge too much.

I used e-tyres when I last purchased, very competitive quote and came out to fit the next day to my house, saved a lot of hassle and the service was top notch as the guy fixed my mums slow puncture too.

I wouldn't recommend going for different tyres. That works out at about £86/tyre which is way to cheap, that will reflect in quality.
they are excellent quality thanks :) easily comparable to eagle f1s i usually get.

But yes, get all 4 tyres the same brand.

Also try vredstien sassanta, they rate highly too and have a cool tread pattern although i have no experience of these.

Thanks for all the info, :)

Like the tyres mentioned what other tyres are recommended ?

What offers balance of quality performance and cost?

Vredestein Sportrac 3.

Just got some fitted to mine. Not had them on long but I'm VERY pleased with them. £11 a side cheaper than the Eagle's too... and that's in 16"

Not to you though, anway I am not going to bicker in this thread any further.

@ Easy, as I mentioned earlier falkens are terrific value, also consider the vredestein ones, I was reading about them at a tyre depot and they did a test on them, I think they came in the top 2. I do wonder why they only feature "big brands" in the test though, do they have to pay a comission or fee to the testers to get their brand in there? Why don't they test smaller brands, or do they not pay the "fee" and therefore sell their tyres for less?

I have never understood why the range of tyres for the rears is so limited though.

LOL designer tyres. Reading the description makes it sound more they are selling watches.

Eagle F1s generally win all the tests, so they are certainly the best tyre, but not necessarily the best value

if you want the best at all costs, get the Eagle F1s :)

they're still available in smaller sizes

and in the larger sizes, they've been replaced by the assymetrical (sp?) version, which is apparently even better.
