Hi, my sister's computer blew up the other day so I've given her my old motherboard, ram, cpu etc to get her up and running again. The only problem is she needs a GFX card and she wants to pay as little as possible for it. She doesn't play games (well just a mega drive emulator and a few small games she got off the web) but I am planning on installing windows vista on it for her. What card would you guys say is best, I have no idea when it comes to cheap stuff like this.

thanks

I'd say this is a better option if she doesn't play games, ATi 2400 Pro It'll be enough to run aero, and you have the added benefit of it accelerating high def videos if she ever tries them.

If she doesn't play games then anything will do really as long as it can do Aero, kylew's recommendation is good as it offers HD acceleration.

The cheapest "decent" gaming card is probably the 7300GT GDDR3, but if she doesn't play games then it's certainly overkill.

just she might play something more and they decent dx10 cards for vista

I wouldn't be surprised if she even knew what DX10 is :p, OP wanted cheapo card, a 2600 would be overkill for what she'll likely be doing :)
