Try messing with the sata options. When I set sata driving from normal to strong it fixed problems I had with the drive being unrecognised.

am I right in assuming you dont see any drives in the vista installtion? Have you tried loading the SATA drivers from your IP35 Pro cd ?

I see the drives, just wont install on them, comes up with an error message saying something, will take a pic in a mo

ah! i got the same error.

You have to install to the primary drive ... for instance when i tried to install to the drive on sata 2 it wouldn't let me ... you to put it on the drive installed on sata 1.

not sure why you're having problems. I've got exactly the same mobo + CPU configuration (q6600 + ip 35 pro) and I had no problems at all. Though having said that, I'm not running maxtors..... hmm so maybe it *is* that.

That error msg would be handy though.

Should be fine without extra drivers.

What do you have the two Storage adapters set to in the BIOS? IDE, ACHI, or RAID?

Mine works fine set to RAID or IDE (I use RAID, as I have a RAID array), I had issues with ACHI with a single disk though.

you say you have an ide drive? if that is plugged in, Vista won't let you install to the sata drive, it just wont see it. Perhaps that is the problem.

Done it, what I got from one MS page, Shift+F10, and used DISKPART in DOS to un-partition the drive and all aok, vista installed, now thinking of getting the 64bit but not sure if i'll come up with errors! But thanks evryone who replied to my help!
