I could push the budget only reason I chose ATI is I have had ATI cards in all my pc's since the Radeon64 to the 1950pro so been faithfull to the brand for some years.

Would it be worth waiting for the 3870x2 ?

Also would this MB be any more use as would like to oc the cpu as much as possible

Asus P5K-VM Micro ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Thanks

The gigabyte board is superb, if you are overclocking, it has the 1:1 dividers for the 1066/1333 cpu's. With the E2xxx you will need (1066) ram for o/c as the memory dividers start at 266 for the E2xxx.

Would OCUK PC8500 ram be ok or would I need to pay a bit more and get the crucial ballistix or which ?

Cheers

I think you would still need a crossfire board to run the 3870X2 and i seriously doubt if it would fit in a M-ATX case anyway. Come to that i expect that it will not fit in a lot of ATX cases. It's huge. Sticking with one brand just because you always have had them is just misguided loyalty. Get whatever is the best that you can afford at the time. For an extra £15 you can't go wrong with a 8800GT.

Also could anyone tell me which cpu HSF will fit in the lanbox with the DS2R mobo.

Thanks

Thanks got the version with the led's just had doubts as wether it would fit as the northbridge heatsink is very tall.

Have since seen another member using it on the S2 mobo so should be fine.

Thanks

I borrowed my sons Geil 2gb dual channel kit and used the onboard graphics so I could install XP Pro and the motherboard drivers and left it at that as he wanted his mem back lol

Now I'm thinking I will get the EVGA Crysis edition 8800GTS but still unsure which memory to get?
