"TV B Gone" - anyone got one?

I've got one, had it a couple of years - It worked well when I got it but it hardly works with any sets these days, I don't know if the codes have changed but as flat screen tellys became more common, the number of sets it works with has dropped dramatically.

Unless they've updated the codes, it'd be a waste of money buying one now.

Reminds me of the time my mate used his watch to mess with the TV when our biology teacher was trying to show us a boring ass video

Didn't Casio watches do this, back in the day?

They did.

I remember this well. In a Science lesson back @ Secondary my mate had just got one of these needless to say the TV was on and off throughout the whole lesson with the teacher looking rather puzzled. Was hilarious. :D

Better than that... We were in a history lesson and the teacher was trying to show us all a video. I think the scart lead was broken as it kept cutting out after she stopped fiddling with the connections. We started a bit of a ruckus and started telling a kid to stop doing it with his watch. We got him kicked out of the room and threatened with a detention.

He wasn't wearing a watch.

I had one of those casio watches like 10 years ago and I also got a program for my phone that used the infared port to be a remote, went to a few shops and turned them up and things in there, was AWESOME.

I had one of the Casio watches well over 10 years ago too. Turning stuff off is boring, the secret is turning the volume up.

It came today, and I can confirm that it does indeed turn TVs off.:)

I'll be trying it on the highstreet at some point, videos to follow.

Laser pens used to set off the burglar alarms off if you pointed them at the sensors in my school, used to go off daily at one point.

Also, off topicish, but I remember on holiday in majorca once the TVs had no buttons apart from the power on the actual unit, and you needed the remote to do anything (conveniently the hotel charged like £1 a night to rent the remote) so to be a little git, on leaving the hotel i turned the volume right up and returned the remote back in to reception, leaving the next poor unsuspecting guest to turn the tv on at possibly 1am and have it blaring and them panicing.

Gizmodo were harsh though - they basically ruined that guy's presentation. Think how long people spend on presentations for these sort of events and he ends up looking like an idiot - IMHO the presentation was going too far. The rest was very funny though :)
