UAC is on here, been using Vista for long enough not to notice it any more. Updating with PBSetup.exe and running as Administrator worked for me, YMMV.
 
Loved single player and spent the last couple of night getting into multiplayer. After getting slaughtered at the start by people with better weapons and helicopters! now I can see it's actually great fun.

Until tonight, now every server I join Punkbuster kicks me within a minute for "no packet flow". This never happened before, what's the story?

I hate punkbuster.
 
I hate it too!! Been playing fine since xmas then suddenly tonite i get booted after every kill!

I've updated PB but it still keeps booting me! GRRRRRR!

At least I'm not the only one. And I was just starting to get the hang of it, got the AK, three kills in a row, call in a UAV and get kicked by Punkbuster.

Does punkbuster actually stop all cheating or is it like airport security that only punishes the innocent ones?
 
Punkbuster is such RUBBISH. I'm trying to fill in a support request and no matter how you enter the letters in their Security Code, it says they're wrong every time. So you cannot enter a request full stop. What a joke.

It even says:
Please examine the image next to the "Security Code" field on this form and type the numbers in the box provided.

But they are all letters in the box, there are no numbers. And no matter how you enter them, in capitals, small letters whatever, it says they're wrong every time. Muppets! :mad:
 
Just got this in the post today. After time played: 2hrs 3mins I'm Sergeant and my best kill streak is 16 with an M4 Carbine. Completed a load of challenges too, mostly assault rifle ones and grenades.

i bought this game yesterday and got it working today :)

already completed it, what a very short meaningless game. if you don't watch the clips it wouldn't take more than 3 hours of solid play to complete it!

awfull!

i have tried MP but that just seems to be the same as the last cod4, nowehere near the team play of bf2142 and the graphics are about 20 years behind that of crysis or bioshock.

I was playing this game on my x1800xt last week and well it was ok but sometimes stuttered and i could feel it lag abit in some areas... Got my Zotac 8800GTS the other day oc to 740/1052 and wow cod4 is like a different game with all details on max 1280x1024 no slow downs or stutters :D
 
Something bizzare.. i've lost my online rank... any idea why this would happen? I was upto 2nd Lieutenant and had some real good setups...
 
Hi i have just bought this game and i was wondering if anyone could answer a q for me.

Is there anyway to play this game with a controller as opposed to a keyboard as my typing skills are pretty non existent and i find controllers much easier to work with:(

Nope there's no controller support in CoD4 at all so your stuck with the keyboard and mouse. :(
 
Can anyone help me with binding my mouse buttons please?

I have the Logitech MX Revolution mouse and for some reason the bindings I have configured for the two thumb buttons random get unbound.

I had setup the larger of the two thumb buttons for Frag Grenades and the smaller button for the Grenade launcher / Claymore.

Every so often the binding default and I can not always re bind them.

Any ideas ??
