I'm sure some people are, but since the Poles are earning more than they could ever get in Poland, I don't think many of them are bothered tbh.

Poles for the win, I like 'em! Good people, great work ethic, and they fought like tigers in WWII.

Plus, my grandmother was one. :)
 
What's all this about exploiting? If they want the job they take it, if they don't then they don't. They get paid far more than they would be in Poland and none of the few I have met have ever seemed to complain. I'd go further and say they actually seemed really happy with what they were doing, and generally really nice people to boot.

I would contest the "better work" part of the title, but I can't really find anything wrong or controversial with any of the rest of it. The better work part is asking for trouble though, it's just silly

Definitely.

There are many valid reasons while a person would need to be on the dole, but if the reason is that you just can't be bothered working then have no rights being in this country, regardless of nationality.

I fully agree.

I just disagree with people getting paid peanuts while some fat guy sits in his chair raking in the cash paying himself a huge wage.

Maybe that is life :(

Did you happen to see that TV show on BBC2 the other night about different people's wages in the UK? It's disgusting the amount of money some of the really high up people earn, especially when there's people working just as hard if not harder for pennies an hour :(
 
The problem is that employers are taking advantage of the cheap labour (hiring immigrants for less pay and more hours) and the money is going out of the country.

Market-dictated wages can never be exploitative?

Sure, it's more than they earn in Poland but I'd rather see them earning a fair wage than market wages plummet—with shareholders the only beneficiaries.

Well then you better get rid of virtually every piece manufactured goods you own. Buying cheap items from the Asia or Eastern Europe is far more exploitative and plays far more in to the hands of the corporate fat cats.

Polish workers earn the minimum wage at least and seem perfectly happy about it. There's no issue here.

I think there is an issue tbh, these Polish workers are making it more of an incentive for company's to pay lower wages across the board, the Polish may be happy about working for low wages but that doesn't mean our native low-income workers are happy, and tbh these company's won't really care because they know that they can just employ Polish workers on the cheap, they are setting a precedent for lower wages,

Yes I'm sure knowing the 'Higher class' snobbery attitude on here I'm expecting to hear "OMG if this scum low income earners don't like what there earning then get out and get a better job !!!111111OnE!!!", life is not always that 'black & white', a man that does a full hard days work no matter what it is deserves a fair wage.

They're exploiting the fact that a particular ethnicity is willing to work for less. This is capitalism, and is more the fault of the government and business than the Poles themselves. They shouldn't be here on mass, the government is responsible for this.
