recommend me poeple like david attenbrough

Are we talking about nature presenters here or TV personalities that we just like?

It's clear from what the OP asked for + his user name + his signature that he's into wildlife and natural history.

I'm just listing presenters from documentaries I've enjoyed. It's not exactly a crime against humanity to deviate based on subjective interpretation of the OP's request, is it?

Of course it's not a crime but it's so blindingly obvious. If my name was CarFanatic and I asked for presenters like Jeremy Clarkson would you recommend me David Starkey? Anyway, I'll duck out of this now [haha, geddit?]

Michael Palin

Michael Palin: Around the World in 80 Days (1989)
Pole to Pole (1992)
Irish Railway Journey: Derry to Kerry (1994)
Full Circle with Michael Palin (1997)
Michael Palin's Hemingway Adventure (1999)
Sahara with Michael Palin (2002)
Himalaya with Michael Palin (2004)
Michael Palin's New Europe (2007)

The MV group also have an excellent series on the amazon, well worth a watch.

thanks everyone for the suggestions.

your completely right though they do have to be a grat nature presenter rather then some guy that is liked and just happens to be presenting a nature documentary.

^^^ will look into that michael guy now as it seems like he has done some good stuff from the list you provided

Astounding - it sounds like people are just mentioning names they've plucked out of the air that have got nothing to do with nature.

Attenborough likes Nigel Marvin which is about as good as it gets.
Theres also David Bellamy.

Palin is a legend! :p

I did, but I defy you to watch any of the names I've given and not enjoy their material.

Do you think I've just crawled out of a shell I've been under for 50 years?

Read the OP again :

absolutely love david attenbrough but trouble is i have watched all his stuff, well afaik i have, to death and i need a break from him.
can anyone recommend me anyone similiar to him? I'm open to any suggestion.

He wants nature presenters like Attenborough.

not really the point was it. it was obvious that the op was after nature stuff, otherwise he'd have said "recommend me something you've seen on TV ever". like you said, not a crime but only because totally irrelevant comments aren't illegal

I don't see why you feel the need to debate this? It was a simple mistake, I glanced at what the OP said and gave a breif list. Okay, so it wasn't exactly what he wanted, but my other point still stands. They're very good in their own right.

Anyway, this is derailing the thread somewhat.

Do you think I've just crawled out of a shell I've been under for 50 years?

You get up on the wrong side of bed today? :/

my need to debate doesn't need to be seen by anyone but me

nope but i am thankful for it as it has cleared up exactly what i am after so hopefully will prevent it from happening again, you've been warned Nix!

just looked up michael palin, seems ok, watched some stuff on youtube but not exactly the style i am after but maybe he will grow on me. checking his profile on wiki he seems more like an actor then a nature presenter but will soon see. OT: does anyone think he looks like he could be the dad of duncan banatine (sp?) from dragons den in this picture

looking at nigel marven this seems like the kind of thing i am after, seen him before but never actually sat and watched his stuff so should be interseting to see.

Forgot to mention that the people must actually be on the camera in the scene at atleast some parts on the ducmentary, my worst series of davids is when he just narrates, anyone else think blue planet was his worst stuff? saying that planet earth is superb, absolute spot on just missing david there with the animals though.

here another question toyou guys, whats your favorite series of attenbroughs? mine has to be trials of life, every part is just so interesting, and loved the way you could see a huge variety of animals in one episode and how they each did one task like making a nest, getting food, mating etc.

[edit]

is this nigel marvel for real?
