Do out punishment system is "best" then? :rolleyes: So peadophiles, rapists and murderers get a few years and then out? Fantastic.

It's all fine being all hippy saying "nooo don't punish them" it doesn't work, if a rapist knew the punishment for rape would be castration he wouldn't do it, just buy a porno instead.

If the goverment gave out lashings to chav's who nick cars I would take a bet car theft would drop by a fair margin.

I do not condone rape in any way shape or form, however, this is barbaric and OTT, at worst they should be castrated, but to throw them off a cliff OMG!!!
It will certainly make others think twice about raping a poor girl/woman, but then again, the less of these foriegn idiots the better, less to pray to Allah and cause trouble for the modern world ;)
 
What happened to forgive and forget? or love, or even forgiveness???

We all seem to be a little trigger happy these past few years imo...

I never said our penal system was perfect, that's not the point. Guilty or not the state can't go round throwing people of cliffs as a punishment if they expect the rest of society to behave a reasonable a civilised manner. I bet the crime rate (especially rape) is no lower in Iran than it is in any western democracy.

It's got nothing to do with not punishing them and I agree we are to lax. However there's a lot of other options. It's not just one or the other.

Break the law...get punishment. What is the difference between the US death sentence and throwing people off the cliff? Criminals get the same punishment. I don't see the problem why those who commited serious crimes get thrown off a cliff. The problem is we're too soft, a country cannot be ruled with a iron first, nor with soft fluffy gloves.

Please show sources of difference in crime rates. I would take a bet the ME has far far lower crime rates, theft especially.

THey're guilty of 'raping two men' although in Iranian terms it may have even been a consentual event

SO much for there being no homosexuals in Iran
 
As bad as rape is that's still a barbaric punishment. Even if the punishment is to be death, there are far more civilised ways to do it.

Yeah that's a good point. And I bet in some places like that it would count as raping a woman if you don't have permission from her "owner".

Yes

Because people would think twice before they committed a crime and it would help get a fair few chavs off our streets and make it safer for me to park my car anywhere i wanted without worrying if a chav is going to come and key it or try to steal it!

This inturn would free up our prisons and hospitals and would help keep my tax's down as most of the tax i pay goes straight to a ***dhead who "cant" get a job but is more than capable of having 6 chavtastic kids (who do nothing but cause grief to hardworking and normal people) and gets so called "benefits" to sustain his idle and pointless life!

When a person turns into an animal, he must be punished like an animal

well in america even with the death penalty the crime rate is higher. Capital punishment simply does not work. As criminals do not think they are going to get caught. You will also have many innocent people murdered. There's many ways of handing out tougher sentences without CP.
 
The first thought that came into my mind was "Why bother with the lashing if your lobbing them off the cliff."
The first response I thought of was "So the ****** suffer a bit"
IMO its no less than an actual rapist deserves...
I really hope that these boys are genuinely guilty and that this is not a miscarriage of justice. That's my only reservations on this. And usually rape is usually one persons word against another... So there had better be some real proof, not a cowboy courtroom farce
