how to empty a petrol tank?

hi guys, i've got a focus in my back yard with 3/4 tank of v-power in the tank

what is the best way of emptying it?

will i be able to stick a hose pipe in the tank, through the filler cap, and syphon it out?

any advise apprieiated

Is this possible with the keys still in the ignition

yeah put the little tabs near the windows/door handles down and close the door

some times you have to hold the handle up when you close the door

He could be using the fuel for a BBQ and burying the car... you never know.

You could always use the method Top Gear used to remove the water from the footwells of their African 2WD cars...

Pull the fuel pipe off the filter in the engine bay, switch the ignition on, which will start the fuel pump. A few minutes later, it'll all be in whatever container you pointed the pipe at.

A plasma cutter will only work on an older style metal fuel tank. i'm pretty sure the focus will have a plastic tank.
