SKODA Octavia VRS WRX ?

Which has gone totally OT funnily enough by you?

a) Discussing a Skoda Octavia in a thread about Skoda Octavias is not OT
b) Please consider attending night classes so you may learn to read. It was not me who started the M3 v Skoda Octavia debate.
c) Go away and stop posting off topic rubbish.

Your post is the first off topic post in this thread. You are a hypocrit.

Again OT!

Is irony lost on you or something?

No, not really. You make it sound like it's some sort of amazing toy - a toy you'd happily give up becuase you've got a Renault Espace instead. Interesting.

If it's as good as you say it is it sounds the perfect weekend toy for the odd aimless blast. Never do these make more sense than when you've already got another car for commuting or if you don't even need to commute at all.

It costs next to nothing to keep a car like this for infrequent use - just tax and insurance, as petrol is proportional to its usage.

Guess you still live with mum and dad then? When you're a bit older and have a family of your own, you'll appreciate how much it really costs to support a family of four

Way to end a discussion on performance cars

Insurance is what, £500 a year for you? Tax £200?

A whole £58 a month for a hobby like that. Most people spend more on Golf, the Gym, whatever other hobbies they have despite having a family. Just seemed a bit odd thats all - you seem to think its quite a weapon yet you don't want to keep it now you can justify just having it to play with.

Infact you probably save more than £58 in petrol now since you changed jobs right? So in actual fact you'll still be better off even keeping the car?

<primary school> you started it </primary school>

You're as welcome as Scuzi btw. In fact, anyone who feels a bit adventurous is welcome for a spin (if you don't mind, I'll do the driving though).

I will say I find your car interesting even if I don't think it's an M3 beater. No true petrolhead can find a Skoda Octavia with over 300bhp boring :)

£640 insurance, and £190 tax. And I don't think it is quite good, I know it is quite good. It's my 2nd vRS, and I've driven over 100K miles between them. I love them, and once I'm in good fortune again I will have one again (but this time I fancy an Mk2 Estate). But for this new job I have to make sacrifices, and selling the car is one of them.

Can we now close the subject of my financial situation?

Certainly not boring :D

Let's get back to the WRC edition... I prefer them without the stickers.

Without the stickers its just a white Octavia. The one I saw today turned my head. It looked cool :D

Ah, but us Skoda anoraks know that it is either an (ex) police car, or a WRC ;) And I have a soft spot for white cars...

The Octavia is not a high performance car. My Toledo is pretty much identical, same engine, same platform, same chassis, same brakes & suspension (I believe) and everything and I would tend to refer to it as reasonably quick rather than high performance.

Some of this is true, however the KW3 suspension costing 1k+ is not, and will make a world of difference although if wet the FWD platform will be a downer, it dry I can see them being close.

tblocksom- I knew you had a modified Octavia but never knew it was that one (I'm also on Briskoda)

I wonder what you have to do to stop the stickers looking rubbish after a few years? I guess a start would be to never polish it or make sure you polish around them (how much of a chore would that be :p ) and never go near it with a pressure washer?

The worst one I saw had all the stickers removed apart from the green bumper tops. That looked... odd
