Idiots., DEADLY NEW TRAIN GAME!

what about the trauma of the mountain rescue people having to clean some kid off the rock, thats what divers are there for its thier job to try and stop trains hitting other trains or people. sure its probbay horrible for them but people don't quite go suicidally insane after running somone over in thier car do they?
A train driver is there to drive the train. It is nothing like rescue mountain. Have you ever seen a damage a 125 train does to a person?
Most drivers apply there brakes, turn there seat around and stick the windscreen wipers on if they have enough time. It utterly destroys a human body, so much so that the eyes pop clean out.

There have been many train drivers who have taken there own life after hitting people, there are even more who can't work again.

Then ontop of that there will be a murder or corporate manslaughter charge. The railway is the only one in law, that have to prove we are innocent. It is the only exception like this in anylaw.

didn't see that comment \o/

The thing is life is full of risk to some degree, people doing extreme sports aren't taking crazy risks, people doing these mental activities are.

"Oh man, we should ban driving because of all the road deaths everyday"

\o/ now you get it the odds of that guy dying there and then where lower than you dying in car crash.

They would have checked parked trains to make sure they could fit, and as for chains etc dragging along under trains there would be health and safety laws against that, ie what if they caught on the sleepers or something on the track.

A train driver is there to drive the train.

Also at what point did avoiding hazards stop being a part of driving?

Surely if all they do is sit there turn on engine then apply brakes at station a computer system would be far safer?

(wasn't there a big crash that was in part caused by trees obscuring the light signals?)

natural selection as far as i am concerned - they shouldn't even put fences around train tracks then anyone stupid enough can go down and get killed if they want - the fools ;)

children and animals don't exist in your little word then?

yes they are there to apply the brakes in an emergency. But his job description is not to look at people being obliterated. Unlike rescue and emergency services. Some of these train drivers on main lines have killed a fair few people each. The one which jumped of the Severn bridge hit 6 iirc.

so it's a fairly common and well known occurance then, and you shouldn't be willing t take the job unless you think you can deal with it.

Just like a truck driver has to go out every day knowing if he has a crash he is almost certainly going to kill who ever is in the other vehicle.

how would a child get anywhere near train tracks? where are the parents?

and animals - surely a greater risk on the roads and we take no special precautions for those.

your parents knew where you where every second of the day when you where under 13, a passenger train is far more quiet than you think, and far faster, if you happen to be just trying to cross tracks even at a unguarded crossing(at many small station) and not looking properly you'd be very lucky to get out of the way in time.

children do stupid things and explore, with no fences a far greater number would wind up on tracks.

guess we should do away with traffic lights crossings and seatbelts as after all its natural selection right?

you can't protect children from every danger - that would be impossible.
what happens in other parts of the world where tracks are not protected? does this sort of thing happen? probably not very often because even a child should know the risks.
These kids know the risks and thats why they do it - if they get killed while doing this sort of stupid thing then i won't lose any sleep over it.

It's called parents checking on you and if I wasn't there I would be grounded for the next 10 years.

didn't have a mobile back then, and it's hard to check up on you when you said you weren't going to be at someone house.

ie out playing foot ball etc.

trick is never getting caught, as long as you can keep the streak going, once caught it all gets ****ed up hough then its nigh on impossible.

and because in other countries where the don't put up fences there aren't trains designed to be quiet.

tbh **** this i didn't come in here trying to defend thier actions just to try and understand why people where all jumping on the "yay lets call them all the retarded things we can think of" band wagon and not people who do other stupid "sport" or stunts.

You can all get back to your back patting and insulting hf.

The train track is a pretty big clue, by the time I reached the age of being able to go about doing what I wanted I was well educated in the fact that you don't wander about on train tracks.

No but if i was playing football, or playing in fields I had to tell them where and they would often walk over and make sure I was there. Didn't come and speak to me or anything.

Not sure what country the trainsurfer is from but their laws are absurd and I hope ours are different!!
My understanding from the video is that he got clean away from any 'punishment' because he bought a ticket for the journey
Implying to me that he would have only been able to be prosecuted for fare evasion like any normal fare evader inside the train!!

Surely he could have been prosecuted for serious public endangerment or something similar???
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure a human body travelling @ 100+MPH ploughing into a crowd of people on a train platform would cause serious multiple injury if not death

The blokes a seriously selfish idiot and doesn't deserve to have a daughter

unless you build your station on a bend he would just flay straight off backwards if the belt holding him on snapped.
