Looked into this but it seems like a lot of hassle, especially if you can't download an updated redist package:

You must uninstall any previous versions of Windows Vista SP1 before installing Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh
To uninstall previous version of Windows Vista SP1
  1. Open the Programs and Features control panel and select View installed updates. In the Microsoft Windows section, right-click Service Pack for Windows (936330) and select Uninstall.
  2. Your system will now uninstall the previous version of Windows Vista SP1 Beta and may reboot multiple times.
  3. Please wait one hour after uninstalling a previous version of Windows Vista SP1 before installing Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh. The installer service needs to clean up and complete the uninstall prior to installing the RC. Failing to do this can result in installation errors when installing the RC version.

I just installed it as is, did the update whilst shutting down, on restart there was another update to go on and then it said no more updates.

Interesting, It's gettin there slowly but won't be long now till it is released. Good work.

You may want to resize that image to 800 x 600 or something like that? Give abit consideration for the people that does less than 1440 x 768. Also you double posted, you should have edited your post.

Be advised that after installing SP1 some people (including me) are experiencing problems opening the control panel, playing windows games and non printing problems.

I have ran all the hot fixes and none have worked.

Its a reinstall of Vista for me.

Hello scooby555t, it's probably due to your overclock not being completely stable. Have you ran any stability programs like Prime95 to make sure that your system is completely stable after you have overclocked your machine? :)

I Installed the Service Pack 1 this afternoon and everything went well. My system is actually much more responsive and this is actually noticeable in my opinion. I haven't tested any games as of yet though so I can't comment on that side of things.

Hello IAmATeaf, have you installed this version of the Service Pack? :)

Seems like a lot of messing around.

Hello Ol!ver, it's a bit more complicated than usual :p but it's not too bad. :)

...for no reason.

For no reason except people have to format again. It's l3eta for a reason and until Microsoft do the testing and release Gold it is a waste of time trying updates/hotfixes/RC e.t.c that still is in the process of enhancements.

As the saying goes 'If it aint broke leave it alone' and if it is broke leave it to the experts to solve.
