Football Fixtures 12-13th January **Spoilers**

There was an article in the echo the other week saying that we came close to signing Berbatov in January '05. According to this article we were at advanced negotiations with Leverkusen around November-December but when we drew Leverkusen in the CL they decided to pull the plug on the deal as they didn't want to sell there best player to a club they were about to face.

Regarding Ronaldo, according to Thommo the fee was agreed and they were haggling over the wages as supposidly he wanted ~£50k a week.
 
The problem with Parry is that the balance between working for the manager and working for the board is too far in the boards favour. The Simao deal is a prime example, we had the money to sign him but Parry spent too long haggling trying to get the best deal possible and it backfired when we eventually matched Benfica's valuation and they turned around and said its too late we want £6m more as we haven't got time to sign a replacement.

I have a certain degree of sympathy with Parry as up untill this season he was being asked to run the entire club more or less single handedly. However if the stories about him rejecting possible investors to protect his own job are true then he should be shot :)

Like i mention above he needs to start working more with Rafa and spend less time on the golf course or the tie store if he is to stay in the job. There have been some stories that Parry's time could be up relatively shortly though, supposidly the Yanks are keeping him untill they're ready to bring there own man in, possibly Foster taking over completely.
 
What's this Foster dude like? Surely he can't be any worse than Parry.

You guys seen next seasons kits? The 3rd one is horrendous.

Its Gillett's son, he's meant to be interested in football and Gillett supposidly bought the club for him. We've already appointed somebody to handle all the sponsors etc and Parry's job is now just to handle the football side of the business (contracts etc). My only concern about Foster taking over from Parry is that he's already went off on holiday for 2 months during the season, if he were to takeover though then i can't imagine it'll be on his own.

Didn't know the kits were leaked, i'll have a look around later. Don't really play the 360 much but no prob.

ew, the home isnt THAT bad but its crap compared to our current one. the green one is gash compared to our europe and away. I like our kits.. a lot :( so much so that im debating buying the away as iv already got europe and home :)
 
To be fair Portsmouth are the worst affected by the ACN. I expected Sunderland to win today (predicted it in silverpaw). They're in for a tough few weeks.

I Think it just that Paco should never left us and Rafa does seem like them kind of stuborn characters
 
If we lose this game Hughes is not going to be popular. Aside from refusing to distance himself with the Newcastle job were now also losing to a team we should really be beating.

Hopefully though this will go the same was as the Rovers - Derby game did...

You realise of course Scholes has been injured for the last three months, and Saha has been on and off for the last god knows how long

Nani may have decided one game earlier this season, but certainly not anything like reliable to decide a game (he often completely disappears for some games)

Would you call Lescott capable of turning a tight game just because he did it once yesterday?I certainly wouldnt - dont get me wrong it was a good fair goal but he isnt a "match winner" (to my mind at least that means the player in question does it frequently and can be "relied" upon to come up with some magic)
