I've rec'd Nokia N95 8Gb

Go a 1st edition N95 and struggling with playing flash videos on it, e.g. youtube? Done a bit of googling and have had mixed reports-some sites say its impossible, others say it works fine with plugin, but I can't find the flash lite plugin for n95 for the life of me!

You cant go to youtube.com and play videos like the N95 8GB - perhaps at the next firmware upgrade. For the moment you can view all Youtube videos using Emtube http://www.emtube.yoyo.pl/.:) (And you dont need flash lite 3 for that programme)

Can anyone recommend some kind of protective holder/sleeve thing for the n95 8gb? Have got one coming in the post and want to take care of it.

Im not sure what you mean by 'smartphone guise', but i will say that the contact handeling/filtering and the calander data that can be put on it, is nowhere near as good as a WM based device imo.

Have you tried Handy Calendar - its v good.

I got a generic plastic case which does the job well. It cost £7.

Got myself a clear plastic case, only £3 off the bay, fits veryy snug and is great. Turned up today, along with a cheap leather case also off the bay for £4, the phone with the plastic case fits into the leather case fine.

£7 well spent to protect the phone :)

This phone is now released on O2, just check there website and it is now available on pay monthly, going to ring them at lunch time to see what kind of deal i can get.

Any one got any ideas to say them what other networks are offering, whats the best deal people have got this phone (on any network)?

Murzo

Those are some extremely steep prices on O2 with a new 18 month contract!

£199.99 on £25/month
£99.99 on £35/month
Free on £50+/month

Doesn't even include any data so you'll have to purchase the bolt on at an extra £7.50 a month, even then it has a fair usage policy of 200MB.

If you're a heavy user, then its ok as you get loads of minutes/texts.

The cheapest you can get the N95 8GB free on a contract is with 3 (£30/month).

Interested in getting an N95. T-Mobile clearly have the best tarriffs and browsing package (1gb) but has there been any more word on if they are gonna be stocking this phone?

if not, 3 seem to have the second best tarriffs and also have a 1gb dl limit. now ive heard 3 are rubbish but having had no experience using them, what can i really expect? dropped calls? lack of signal? im leaving orange purely for this reason.

Just spoke to Orange as I get my upgrade on the 31st January, they are expecting the N95 8GB to come in stock any day now, it will definately be in stock by the 31st January anyway. They also said the N82 is still in testing for Orange.

Not sure what to do now as I made up my mind I was going to change to T-Mobile and get the N95 8GB with them but I rang their sales line also and was told they havent got any idea when they will have it in stock. Although I was put through to an Indian call centre.

Anyone else here whos had a N95 for a bit notice that after a while, while the slider mechanism still feels solid, theres a bit more give in the screen, in regards to it seeming looser?

Been with 3 for around a week and this is my opinion so far (coming from T-Mobile).

Call quality is excellent
Signal where I use the handset is better than T-Mobile
I've yet to encounter a dropped call. Happened quite often with T-Mobile.
Data connection is better. feels faster, more stable and responsive.

The main complaint I've heard about 3 is customer service and the Indian based call centres. I've spoken to the CS reps on three occasions and not had a problem yet to be honest. Still early days but the test will be when something goes wrong and they need to rectify the problem.

I spoke to the loyalty team a few minutes ago to cancel my current T-Mobile contract.

Told them I wanted to cancel with one of the reasons being the N95 8GB. I was told they had no plans to release it yet but it depends on whether there was a demand from it's customers.

just got a cracking upgrade on this from o2 :D

Online 40 tariff (800mins 1000texts, free o2 calls) discounted to 25 quid a month
plus free phone

adding the web bolt on bumps it to 32.50 but still cheaper than three and a lot more minutes and texts

Didn't even have to argue :D

That's on an upgrade though.

Your monthly spend must be a fair bit to get an upgrade deal like that though.

As far as an N95 8GB on a brand new contract goes, 3 is still the cheapest option to get the handset free.
