I'm slowly prepping the DC5 'Teg for some torment on the track. I've already got all the breathing sorted out and I was left only with brakes (standard ones aren't all that great tbh) and a baffled sump (again, oil starvation can occur on fast full throttle bends like the bridge at silverstone etc).
So, after many months of researching, constantly getting put off by the usual £1500-£2000 I'd have to shell out for a big brake conversion in addition to the possibility that I may have to get larger alloys I found a happy medium.
One of the chaps at the DC5 owners club works at some Caravan company or something and was in the same situation as myself where he wanted a better solution. So he had some fixed bell discs made up that are the same size as standard, allowing the stock Brembo 4 pots to remain and no issues with aftermarket alloys.
He originally came up with these in 2006, and I would have bought them if it wasn't for the fact that they had no credentials. Anyway, a long time has past now and I have not seen one bad review so a set of these arrived last week. Will get them fitted when my new pads arrive. Someone did mention that they were made in conjunction with AP Racing though I'm not 100% sure, all I know is that many people have done many track days with them and they are still fine unlike stock items that would probably melt after 5 sessions.
