Has anyone seen one of these phones in the flesh? From what I have heard they sound amazing

There is one brown leather version and one black version:

One of the coolest features of this phone is that if your phone is on loud and ringing on the table, you can simple turn it over and it will go silent. I can imagine this being very useful when you are in meetings or busy with people.

Not that cool, would be easier to press one button than turning the phone over. Sonyericsson has gesture control thats much cooler, shame it's only on some of the low end phones.

I also want one but £500 on contract! Will wait till the price drops a bit before I get one.

I know people will say you can get more features for cheaper but thats no what the 8 series is about.

Or you could just leave it on silent, as you won't be able to answer it anyway.

It's only tri-band. My 8600's quad-band. And still no memory card slot. Better camera than the 8600, and a desktop charger though.

Its actually not that impressive in the hand.
To be honest, it feels very much like an 8800 Sirocco in the hand, which is no bad thing I guess. It has the same weight, the same shiny front, although the back is now matt, which is better.

The brown version is more expensive, as it has leather and a Sapphire on it (as the center key).

If you like the 88XX series you'll live the 8800 Arte. Desktop charger is nice.

I think the Sirocco looks better to be honest.

Edit: Won't stop me from getting one though :)
