This just sounds immense:

Looks well planted too. I think the Nissan GT-R is the first car I've got excited about in a long time. Ferrari's etc don't really float my boat, but this, considering its price is looking pretty awesome.

More GT-R stuff:

I want one :(

I honestly think this is one of the most anticipated cars in recent years, and it seems to have done the job perfectly! Would love a go in one.. but I doubt it will ever happen :(

Very impressive looking car, and sounding. Only lost a tiny bit of control once there (3:00 min). Some real clever traction control etc keeping that thing going round the track

I am looking forward to the R34s dropping in price now that this beauty has arrived, hopefully when the new series of Top Gear comes out they will take this on their track.

I got a semi just listening to the engine note. I think i might be falling in love again..

Just want to see the new supra against this... both are strong contenders for the aspirational car :)

Any details on the new Supra?

i would love one but at €150,000 OTR over here in Ireland, not to mention the new €2000+ a year road tax and most likely a stupidly high insurance premium : (.

So the GT500 is the special version then? 'Normal' one isn't meant to be that much. Or will it only be an import?

Most of the specifications aren't expected to be announced until Nissan's Tokyo show press conference on October 24, but today we know that the all-wheel-drive 2009 GT-R will get a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 that produces 473 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. It'll drive all four wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. The only transmission will be a GR6 dual-clutch six-speed automatic.
Nissan says the GT-R will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, finish the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 192 mph. Base price is expected to be less than $80,000
