I'm travelling through france next week, and will probably want an overnight stop.

I've been reccomended the Formule1 hotels @ €30 a night. Are there any others that I can use?

Cheers

the Formule1 are decent enough if you're only staying 1 night. I crashed in a Motel the otherside of Lyon on my way down for about same cash, wasn't a chain place though. The room was just about big enough for a double bed, and i wouldn't have used the shower... but after 14 hours i just wanted to lay down :P

It's just somewhere to crash for the night, instead of the car. As long as it's clean(ish) it'll be fine. I was just wondering if there were any other chains similar, as I'm putting them all in my satnav :p

They are super basic, with no loos/showers in the rooms but communial ones. I ended up peeing in the sink in the middle of the night!

I am going to France next month and have booked in advance with Ibis and have got a hotel for £30 a night which is slightly more but more forgiving.

I'd rather sleep in the car than a Formule 1. Ibis are below the standard I am used to and are about as low as I will go in terms of hotel. They're clean, that is about as much as you can say for them. You can't even say that for an F1.

I have used F1s a few times. I found them to be ok, about as you would expect for €30 really. I also used a Roi Soeil which was that same price but a fair bit nicer, I don't think there are very many of them about though. I prefer to do my journey in one go though rather than drag it out over another day by stopping for the night.
