Has anyone wondered if he would even be safe here? It would be extremely hard for him.

As for letting him, i personally dont think we should due to the fact of his past, his dad, and the way he dosnt need to come here, its not a matter of life or death.

How can we be sure he's not? I'm all for innocent until proven guilty but he's been in training camps and his father is one of the most recognisable terrorists in the history of the world :/

That should be enough to keep him out, regardless of if he has renounced those views or not.

I'd say he's pretty low risk. He's so high profile that the chance of him getting up to anything without being detected are minimal. If some terrorist group are going to send someone to the UK to blow stuff up surely they'd pick someone with no record.

It seems there are plenty of people in the UK openly preaching hate and praising the bombings, where as the article states that this guy talks of peace and organizes events for all the religions to come together. Surely if you're going to be letting someone come to the country then this is the guy you want.

Just because he went to a training camp doesn't mean that he's a danger. I'd imagine that any guys growing up in that area have little choice in the matter if their family wants them trained.

I know, that's why I said truly not a terrorist. I still have a slight problem with someone who has attended camps as he may sway back to that terrorist mindset again.
 
What if the MI5 team assigned to "watch" this guy means that we miss out on preventing the next 7/7, or <insert relevant deity here> forbid the next 9/11 from occuring?
 
Theres also the possibility that he is allowed in so that intelligence can track his every move and communication easier.
Its not like hes sneaking in. he is declaring his intentions legally.

I doubt he has a team following him! They probably just monitor his computer/calls/money.

TBH with all the terrorist that are supposed to be in the UK i'm surprised there aren't more attacks. You only have to use google to find out how to make powerful explosives with a few household/gardening chemicals, you don't need large scale organization/lots of money.

I can't help but think the fact there are not bombs going off everyday means that the whole threat is near made up.

I'd dread to think what they'll do to him. No doubt his address will be published somewhere and he'll face a constant stream of hate. Hell even if he's committed to peace now I'm sure with everything he'll soon come to face he'll be getting an itchy trigger finger!
 
There is evidence to show that Osama himself stayed with Saudi friends in this country during the 90's.

Some of the Bin Ladens are Carlisle Group members so apart from Osama the family is quite well respected by the political and financial establishment.
 
perhaps its a plan to trap osama...wait till his son invites him round for sunday dinner then arrest him...simple really!
 
indeed. plus we've let known terrorists into our country for over 20 years. why stop now? :)

personally if you train as a terrorist you have made your statement, no matter if you "peace" ride anywhere or have a rich wife.

So basically he hasn't done anything wrong.

last i checked training in afghanistan in terrorist camps is a illegal action and if your caught you will be jailed. i may be wrong but there are not many "ex" fundamentalists either, so forgive people for being doubtful imo.
