Crysis on $900 PC

You can get the 360, ps3 and wii for $900!!

Or does it mean 360 + wii

no you can get all* of them for $900, and yanks still whine something rotten about the cheap prices they pay.

*the cheaper ps3 and 360 sku's.

the same bits listed in the $900 neogaf thread are actually about £710 here, closer to $1400.

My PC cost less than a PS3 at the time (admitedly 2ndhand parts), and that handles Crysis fine on very high @ 1440x900 (which is effectively a similar res to 1280x1024).

:o:o:o

I don't understand the attraction of lying about how well you can run a game, I just don't.

Are you accusing me of lying?

I get between 25-30fps with my rig, which cost less than £400 (PS3 was ~£400 at the time), or are you just making some sort of point about 30fps not being perfectly playable?

I got most of my rig on these very forums: £125 for my mobo E6400(@3.2Ghz), 2GB ram and 250GB HDD. I just added a new overclocked 8800GT for £140 and Coolermaster case with 460W pSU for £40

no way a 8800GT can do that when an 8800GTX and G92 8800GTS (overclocked to hell) can't, is there something you know that we don't?

Well, I can run the benchmark and that's what it says during it, but it crashes when I get to results screen, b ut I'll try again and do a screenshot then!

Remember videos only run at 24FPS (sometimes 30FPS) btw
Also, a lot of the time you can't tell if a game is lagging unless you feel it while moving the mouse.

i get 20 - 25FPS (using r_displayinfo=1 in console) on very high settings at 1280*1024, now how can a less powerful GFX get higher FPS at more or less the same resolution? hold on a second what OS you running on?

I'm on 1440x900, so not the same resolution, but I just rerun the GPU benchmark and on the last run was stating average 28.5fps. However, I don't know how to run the results viewer as after the bench run it just states "file missing" on the C:>
Anyone got any ideas?
