:mad:Hi all,

Been insured with Nowich Union this year and in April I was "involved in a incident" which was news to me. Now this was apparently settled as I supposedly hit a car in a car park driving a red saloon, which is good as a drive a blue hatchback.

So over a few weeks we got it sorted and they told me over the phone it was sorted as a false claim and nothing will come of it. Great finailly.

So today I get my renewal form and I now have 0NCD which I "have" 2.

So phone them up, "whats going on blah blah blah" not in those words. O you have an "at fault claim" made against you  Ok can you please explain this to me. Sorry the claims department is closed now. So I gota phone in the morning.

Has anyone had this sort of **** before. I have writen down the time and date they told me "nothing will come of it so I should be ok but its such a nightmare, Ive already paid for my new insurance claiming I have 2NCD.

Dont no if im allowed to say the name but its Nowich Union.

Sorry about the mistakes in spelling and grammar and not making any sense, had a bad day at work and this just topped it off :(

Sounds like a big mess up at their end to me.

I'd get it sorted ASAP, these things tend to get more difficult to sort out as time goes on.

Thats what im dreading, "o we will look into it further" so how long is this going to take? Its due 6th Feb so if its not sorted before them will I have to get insurance with 0NCD utill its sorted?

Norwich Union lost me 4 years no claims thanks to them not hearing me out on an accident. It should have been at least a 50/50 but they just wouldn't listen from the outset.

I'll never insure with them again, I just found the overall service a bit shoddy.

The telephone call where they told you everything was sorted and it's a false claim against you will have been recorded so it'll be "on file".

Chill out winston, everything will be fine. Call them and explain nice a calmly and I'm sure you'll get your NCB back.

Just been speaking to a mate who deals with this thing....

I have not recieved any statements or been asked for any
No forms to fill in.
No details of the third parties claim.

So im hoping its just the claims dept. not telling the other team its been settled *crosses fingers*

I had this with NU as well in my first year of driving.

I totalled my car, nobody else involved, nobody injured, no damage to property etc. completely clean accident, at fault but nothing being done, just phoned NU and said I'd had an accident, so they knew.

Come renewal I have 0NCB and double the premium, phone up to ask why, 'You have a claim on your policy dated xx', well, no I don't that's impossible, I didn't claim as the car was not worth the excess I'd have to pay, and nobody else was involved or injured etc. so there was nobody to make a claim.

After a few phone calls they had sorted it out though, which was good of them, but I changed companies soon after as I could get cheaper insurance and didn't want to be messed around again.

Yea just hope I can get it sorted tomorrow. I can picture it now both ways.

1. "o yes sorry we hadent informed the department I will fax you confirmation of your 2NCB now"

2. "oooo sorry what happened here, let me investiage further......... no sorry 0NCB"

No need to call if you are not making any claim?
