Am after a new pair of trainers but am struggling to find a pair I like. Can anyone recommend any places in London that specialise in retro/unique trainers? I am working down here again and it would be daft if I didn't take advantage of the excellent shops.

I am ideally looking for a smart pair of old style nike airs. None of these new fangled nike shox or any others that will make me look like I am wearing corrective footwear.

A good old fashioned pair of air max, addidas trim trabb or forest hills etc is what I am after.

Thanks for any info!

Is there a footcandy? I don't know if it is a chain, but there is one here and it has every different colour/special edition of those you mentioned.

Yeah but they are the chavalicious versions that every tom dick and harry will be sporting.

I get mine from places like transalpino in Liverpool who import them from all over and only ever in small numbers.

They're only going to have minor differences so that no-one but you will even know.

So even if you can tell yourself that you're not 'chav' for wearing your trainers, anyone else you care about will :)

The lads I go the match with will spot them and be in total awe of my custom colourway Nike Air Max 90 with mesh upper and durafoam outsole and as a result I will become a god amongst men, women will faint at my feet and the sun will constantly shine down upon me.

Everyone else will think I have a pair of chav shoes from JD sports on though :)

I'll echo others and say Neal Street in Covent Garden, plenty of shops there that sell unique shoe designs.

Cheers for that, will have a scoot up there after work tomorrow. Is Neal St the one with Urban Outfitters on? Kind of down a smaller street off the main road that leads up to Leicester Sq tube?

got my Purple Air Max 91s on as we speak. got em Online for £70, mate got some from the Us for $70 :( but damn they are nice and purple, his are red.

Ive got the red and white forest hills, they dont look at all chavvy

80's hooligan chic yes, chavvy no :)

Did you know that the soles of forest hills use NASA technology?

Useless fact of the day :)

Back in the day, you couldn't get those trainers from anywhere but specialist shops. JD sports and Addidas original stores are popping up everywhere and delivering them to the masses now.

Class trainees tho those forest hills. I like the green ones.
