Hi there,

Just paid money into the bank so I'm ready to hit buy but just want this spec checked please:D:D

Basicly this is what is happening...

My bro is going from a 939 X2 3800+ to the E2180 with the 2GB RAM on my Asus P5B.

Im then having the P5K to go with my E6600 & the 4GB kit is mine as well. Im also having the Ultra120 with the Noctua.

The Antec Case + PSU is for someone else & is housing a skt754 3400+ with 1GB RAM with on-board grpahics... Should be enough?

Basicly is there anything I should change?

Would the E2160 be ok and save a few quid? Are the RAM kits ok and is the Ultra 120 the best cooler for the price?

The user who is getting the antec case already has a case (bit ****) but needs a new PSU for the SKT754 as theirs on has the 20pin ATX PSU. Would they be better off getting a CHEAP (sub £20) PSU and a better HDD? Current HDD is an IDE 60GB...

Cheers in advance, Doug.

EDIT: Will be O/Cing the E21XX

i would either stick with the e2180 or pay £3 more for the e2200 with the higher multiplier (x11) to make OCing even easier.

im not sure how OCable the 2x2GB ram kit is so as long ass you dont want a FSB above 400, you will be safe.

the earthwatts psu is suppose to be quite good, so i would stick with it

Cheers for replying!

So basicly stick with what I've got? Nothing really needs changing?

Cheers again, Doug.

EDIT: What kind of temp diff will there be with the Ultra120A over a ACF7? Im hoping for 5c at least...

from what i interpret form your first post then i dont see any need to change

you could just buy a earthwatts psu seperatly though if you already has a case

2160 will se 3ghz so save a few quid

damn that rams good value

:eek::eek::eek:

The 4GB kit I thought was a massively great price and just seen it's gone into the TWO so down to £61.09 inc VAT

So total price is now lower.

I think i'm gonna hit the buy button on the following then:

Cheers again, Doug.

EDIT: £30.55 for a 2GB stick of RAM.... I love it!!!!

You don't really need to spend so much on a CPU cooler even with the E6600. The Thermalright ultra 120 is only really needed on quad cores.

I'd just go with the Noctua cooler that comes with a fan already. That'll save you a chunk.

Plus I'd go with an Abit IP35. I've had trouble with the Asus mobo I've had at the moment so I'm a little biast against them.

I got my E2140 this morning and it's running at 3ghz out of the box with all voltages running at stock. I didn't even bother going a bit at a time, jumped straight into 375x8. I'm sure it'll go further when I give it another little nudge tomorrow :D

Would save me £4.69. Is the cooler better or the same as the Ultra 120A?

Cheers for the heads up on the mobo, im not so keen on the IP35 but this is ONLY down to it being blue and not black... picky I know;):D

EDIT: Im also thinking about upgrading to a quad but that won't be until later this year

Ah I just saw ultra 120 and assumed it was the expensive version, I haven't seen that cheaper one before. You aren't actually saving anything as they are just 1p different between the ultra120A+fan and the noctua NH-12 I recommended.

I'd look up reviews of the A version of the ultra 120 and compare them. I know that until the extreme version of the 120 came out the noctua was one of the best ones out there.

As for the motherboard it can look whatever way it wants to me as it'll be covered by a huge CPU heatsink and a bunch of PCI cards anyway ;)

Well I hit the buy button.... But I don't know if it's gone through.

I had to create a new account for my different card, that all went fine.

It said processing order etc and then asked if I wanted to secure protect my card...

Basicly all the items are still in my basket and there is no order under the outstanding orders part of my account.

I also haven't had any emails confirming my order...

Any ideas?

I have ordered many times from here before but can't remember how long it takes for it to send the emails confirming everything and for it to appear under Outstanding orders.

Cheers, Doug.

Usually instantly for me. Does your card make you go to an outside website to authenticate it? I know my girlfriends mastercard (that I use for OCUK) makes me go to an outside site to put in an online authentication code.

Nope, don't think so. It said it was Natwest Secure Protect.

It had written above this though that if I didn't do it then it didn't matter... so I hit 'No thanks'

Had a feeling it was all 'allmost' instant and I rang OCUK and they said that the last order they had recieved from my address was August last year.

If I put another order through and it does duplicate will OCUK be alright with cancelling one?

Cheers again, Doug.

It usually comes up with a "Your order has been confirmed" page (or something similar).

Try sending them a webnote asking if your order went through. (Don't forget to add some details of your order)

I've dealt with them numerous times, I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem if you caught the problem before they got dispatched. Always contact them over the phone though as it takes a day or two for them to reply by email.
