As Title!

I popped to an Estate Agents at lunch today to pay the deposit on a property me and my friends are going to rent, £840 was required.

Unforuntately they didn't accept a card payement, only cash - i asked if there was a local Lloyds TSB Branch for me to withdraw they said there own building used to be the old Lloyds branch!!

So i went and withdrew £200 from the cash point while on the phone to my Manager to get my Daily Limits increased.

1. Withdrew £200
2. Couldn't withdraw anymore so step aside from the ATM and rung manager to increase.
3. Went back to the machine after a gent had just used it straight after i had and withdrew a further £200
4. Queue behind me at this point, put my card straight back in drew out £200
5. Card back in another £200 out
6. Card back in, bank declined.
7. went to the back of the queue while on phone to manager needed the amount of withdrawels increase as i had used it 5 times (got £10 in the morning)
8. Back to the atm withdrew another £50

So withdrew £850 within 5-10minutes, with me moving around the Queue and getting some very worried looks from bystanders as it looked like i was wiping out the machine...

Was pretty funny, but looked so suspect!

Referencing Costs and 50% Rent or something.

I have to say i was shocked they had no Card facility!

Just lucky i work for the bank and can adjust my own card limits!!

Sometimes I try to look dodgey/shifty when I'm buying something from the Co-op or M&S. Still waiting for one of them to call security on me.

Must have looked a bit dodgy!

I'm surprised your manager can directly affect something like your daily withdrawal limits.

Working for NatWest I knew that you could set the ATM limit to £750 per day, most people assume its ~£250.

Used to get strange looks withdrawing £700+ some months.

When I was 16, I pulled up on my 50cc scooter, broke into my dad's car and removed the stereo and all of his belongings (at his request - long story). Lots of passers by had a good look but nobody said or did anything.

How do you do this? Could come in very usefull when it comes to paying the rent and im too lazy to go all the way into town

If you have telephone/online banking you can just phone them up and ask them to change it.

I think with a standard current plus account, the limit is £500 a day and with an advantage gold it's £750.

i looked dodgy the other day when i ordered chinese food, the delivery guy couldn't find the house so i had to go looking for him. Ended up finding him down an alley and paying for the food there. He even commented that it felt weird and must look like we're dealing drugs

A mate's Cousin once paid for a new car in cash! You won't believe how much like a criminal the bank staff, and the manager too as a matter of fact, treated him when he went to withdraw his sizeable amount of money.

Personally though, I did once walk into Stoke's NatWest bank and forgot to remove my bike helmet and balaclava first. Damn if they didn't think I was there to rob the place, you could actually see the cashiers' faces turning white. :D

Not really dodgy but I was driving down a main road one day with my other half and I saw a bunch of girls that must have been only 13 years old. I turned to the missus and said how disgraceful it was that they were all dressed like tarts and that their parents they should be more responsible and if I were a parent I would let my daughter go out dressed like that.

Whilst I was talking and pointing at them to the other half, a load of the girls turned and looked at me driving past and one of them went "eurgh look theres a pervert" at the top of her voice because I was looking at them and pointing at them. :o:eek:
