2x8800GTS 512Mb on a 580w Hiper PSU

God no. Don't do it. You're risking 400 pounds of GPU over some dodgy Hiper PSU? Suicide mate. You need to change that power supply now ideally...for an Enermax.

I very much doubt that the hiper will like that setup...

JTLYK, mine are fine on a corsair hx620w :)

It wont, a Corsair HX520W+ will though.

The 580W Hiper aint dodgy tho just wont run something that powerfull.

Interesting, I have an enermax liberty 500w too and was wondering if I could get away with running a 3870x2 off it.

I'm also running a q6600 @ 2.7 and 3 hdds ... worth risking ?

Were you on crystal meth when you typed that?

How does that PSU's legendary failure rate equate to "good"?

Dont care how many failures the older ones are generally good ones, I had one for over 2 years ran with a 2900XT and C2D system they aint bad but they wont run SLi GT's.

Like BEn_2600+ about Xbox 360's, damn there failure rate is high and people still buy those a friend of mine has the PSU in his blow or something , people dont stop buying them do they? If hiper improve there PSU's people still still say they are crap, if Xbox 360 improve the design people will keep buying them.

That doesn't really work though. If an Xbox 360 blows, you are able to replace the entire system in one go. If your PSU blows and takes out components it results in weeks of troubleshooting and RMA'ing. Also, PC's are considerably more important for things like coursework and essential assignments and reports. An Xbox 360 is just an Xbox 360.

Dont know about you but I back my work up on other things than my PC.... And a C2D and something like an 8800GT with 2GB ram, any mobo and one or 2 HDD's wont break this PSU, when these corsairs start dieing I can bet no one will tell people not to buy them.
