u serious

:D

It is stupid though, just because the X2 can't run Crysis well doesn't mean you should not buy one as its crap, no cards out can run Crysis well, so we've all got crap cards now in that case. :p

its not that, its just we want to see progress from ati real bad because they need it as well as us. Im thinking half the people here only want this card to do well so nvidia release their new line sooner :p :)

nvidia's new line seems to be nothing more than a die shrink and a clock bump, similar to 7800-7900 (going by what people are talking about on the net at least). Id have to say on the interest scale the r700 is what has most people talking. Ati badly needs this to kick nvidia so hard in the nads that Jen-Hsun Huang's head will have 2 small indents on the top of it.

only a liverpool fc scum supporter would say that

I gotta agree with you though

Sorry matey but I dont recall saying that no one should buy one. ;)

I said that it seems rather pointless to move from a GT or a GTS to the x2, as the two aforementioned cards can run all games out there, Crysis being the exception. Your subjective opinion of Crysis is irrelevant as is mine, so why keep harping on that you think its crap.

And no we havent all got crap cards, who said we did? I certainly didnt.

well tbh if your running an nvidia card chances are your prob either running an sli board or a 1 gpu board. so I cant imagine many jumping mobo + gpu bus

All you considering selling your 8800GT/GTS for this are bonkers. If the x2 can't play Crysis in all its glory then its an utterly pointless card to buy.

Then why is it going to be an utterly pointless card if it can't run it in all its glory, and not worth buying then, if it isn't a crap card ?

As i said, Crysis is not the only game on the planet, if the X2 can cut through every other game at say 100+fps with full AA/AF, just not in this 1x game (Crysis), then its not pointless, and is worth buying.

the thing is, in the 2 GOTYs, COD4 and UT3, Xfire sales into 70-80%, so id say, its a damned good purchase.

Xfire scales better than SLi, so if it were a choice between 8800GT X2 and HD 3870 X2 i kno what i would go for.

Sorry but Ive read the first line of your reply about ten times and I still have no idea what you are talking about.

I get the rest of it though.

You said if it can't run Crysis in all its glory, its not worth buying, Why ?

The cards we have now can't run it in all its glory, so do we all have utterly pointless cards ?

If someone wants to upgrade an old x800/6800 or whatever to a new GT/GTS/3870 etc..., are you saying they should not bother as its pointless, as they can't run 1x game in all its glory ?

My next upgrade will be to a card that can play Crysis at very high, with sky high fps, be it ATI or NV.

Till then my GT handles everything comfortably at 1920x1200.

Then ive read it wrong then, you should have said pointless over those cards, not a pointless buy if it can't run it.

Once again, and please read this slowly at least twice before you reply:

In my opinion if you are the owner of a GT or a GTS I see the x2 as a less than worthwhile upgrade.

Of course if you are the owner of an x800/6800 then the x2 or any of those other cards you mention are all viable alternatives.

To summarise again: I have only stated that the x2 is pointless in relation to current owners of the GT or above.

How is the X2 pointless? work it out, add an extra 8800GT to your rig and you still wont get the performance of a 3870X2 basically since crossfire scaled BETTER than SLi.

yes i know that now, but it doesn't read like that the first time.

Thats says we are bonkers for buying one over our GT's/GTS's, and that the X2 is pointless buying because it wont run Crysis in all its glory, to me anyway, so i apologise for reading it wrong. :)
