The Witcher-Official Thread

Anyone able to answer my spoiler question on the last page about the ending to the game?

Funny eyes and ninja sword skills made me think he's a bit witcher-y...but then again he didn't seem to use any signs in his scrap with Geralt. If not a witcher, maybe he's the fruits of a mutation experiment.

I didn't recognise him as anyone who has featured in the game.

Possibly setting us up for a sequel?

Check the official forum for more thoughts.

***SPOILER***

I just got the Metal Lightning fork from the swordsmith go to the swamp but i cant for the life of me kill the golem, i use blizzard potion and i was given a new potion recipe to stop me getting knocked down, i also want some swallow potion, where can i get the potion ingredients near by, the ui isnt exactly helping.

What I did was keep hitting the golem and using the flame attack whenever I could. If you keep combo hitting him he doesn't get the chance to fight back unless his back is against something, so keep hitting him until his back comes up against something then run away and get ready to do another strike. Use the steel sword in "heavy" mode I think that works best.

Its a pretty long fight, I'm playin on medium difficulty - its probably quite easy on normal.

I did read something about using the pylons to down him fast but I tried hitting him into then but with no effect. Good luck anyhow!

BTW is it me or do loading times get a lot longer during Act 3? :/

With the golem, I think I put the conductor in/on it, then ran round the three pillars to activate them (You might need to ask the head druid to create a storm for you as well), once all three were connected/sparking he went down like a shot. I originally tried just fighting him but it was taking ages even if I wasn't losing health so I figured it must taken some lateral thinking - did anyone try fighting the kikimore queen to start with?

Act 3 does have the longest loading times, the trade quarter is the biggest, busiest area.

That's how I did it - took me about 5 lightning strikes to take him out . I didn't even need to use my sword or any signs. As for the queen, she kills you in one hit, you can't fight her.

If i'm not too hung over tomorrow (chance would be a fine thing) am looking forward to getting dug into act 4 :)

DEks

Instead of playing through the rest of act 2 and the rest of the game.I've decided It'll be a good Idea to go out and get some light background reading on the game and once I've finished reding the background story I'm gonna continue with a greater understanding of my surroundings and abilities! :p

Patch might be out by then too

I just got this today and I'm so disappointed. Load times are awful. I knew they were an issue but I really had no idea they were this bad. Can't get immersed in it at all. Hopefully the new patch will fix things a bit.

After trying the demo I picked this up when i was xmas shopping at the weekend and I gotta say very impressed so far. Playing at max detail smoothly, seems a great story and atmosphere. It's what NWN2 should have been like.

Just finished the first act and killed the thing in the sewers, now gotta find the dude and get all my stuff back.

Bought this when it first came out. Played it for a very short while cos I had so many other good games at the time. Abso-****ing-lutely enjoying it now. Its a brilliant game if you put aside its bugs. It reminds me a lot of the vampires masquarade. Now in a little ways into chaptor 2. The chaptors are very big!

Anyone got any cool things I should be finding/doing?

Oh yeah and loads times for me are fine.

i bought it when i upgraded my pc and had been waiting for ages to play it but once it was installed i have hardly touched it lol maybe i should start again and get into it :(

Completed this over Christmas and ive got way more positive things to say about it then lets say... Crysis.

Such a great story and the ending was absolutely fantastic too. I normally agree with PC Gamer reviews but to give this 60-odd percent!? What a bunch of massive idiots!
