Keegan appointed new Newcastle manager, again.

Anyway, back on track....

Predictions for scores tomorrow?

I'm going for 2-1 to the Toon. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet :)

cos Spurs fans don't have the passion of the Geordie's, Ramos doesn't inspire you like Keegan does

Must be pretty bloody inspirational, Sevilla were fighting alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona tooth and nail for the entirety of last season in La Liga and won the UEFA cup twice in a row.
He must be doing something right.

What's that got to do with inspiring the fans?

That really is a stupid question.

not really, did the hiring of Ramos prompt 15,000 extra tickets to be sold in 2 hours?

predictions? 4-2 to the Toon :D who cares how many we let in as long as we score more, winning 4-2 is more entertaining than winning 1-0 and going oooooh how good we kept a clean sheet

The whole "Score more than them" tactic is hardly likely to work in 2008. Managers are better, more tactically aware, have better defences and all round superior play. It's not 1996 and I'm amazed Newcastle fans can't see this.

well im off to the toon now, few beers and then to the match hopefully have something to celebrate afters even if we dont i know its going to be a great atmosphere today something thats been lacking mostly for some time :)

If it wasn't for this type of play where would spurs be this season, they only seem to score points now by outscoring other teams their defence is terrible.

 i dont know one newcastle fan who thinks that will work, but obv u do living in smog land supporting man utd. Im amazed how far off the mark people are about what we expect from keegan. We just dont want to be bored for 90minutes like the big sam regime.

People just love mocking newcastle because of the last 4/5 year and a few years before that...

Seems like a lot of Spurs fans have problems with newcastle..

well sometimes spurs fans are just as disillusioned as some newcastle fans at times

Don't worry about it. It doesn't matter how many times you say it, no-one will read it and they will keep jumping into this thread with comments based upon their pre-conceived ideas rather than anything we mere Newcastle fans would have to say about the matter.

That really is a stupid question.

Are you honestly saying that Ramos' successful career so far has inspired the Spurs fans as much as Keegan has inspired the Newcastle fans?

Have you turned on a TV in the last few days?

Amen brother.

His actual tangible achievements in his managerial career, such as the winning of UEFA cup was a boost to the Seville fans.

If he does the same with Spurs, you could say not only is he a more inspirational coach than Keegan he is a better coach on every level.
Much like every coach in the top half of the Prem.

What are you expecting from keegan?
Theres only so many 4-3 losses you will take before you are crying into your ale and bemoaning the fact he cant close a game out.

The problem fans of other clubs have is that the whole thing seems so unrealistic. Its easy to say you only want some decent football to watch cos you've been bored to tears by your previous manager.

If Keegan gets the team playing well and challanging having spent big, expectations will change again and you will want trophies. Then the tactical flaws and his managerial short comings will be evident. That is the best-case scenario.

Going back to 96 i would gaurantee any newcastle fan would have swapped some of the free flowing football for a couple of 1-0s and the prem title.

When you see the fans faces when the title went nipples-vertical or Keegan slumped over the advertising boards as Liverpool scored their fourth it didnt particularly look like a bunch of people celebrating the fact that at least it was nice to watch and the scores didnt matter.

I guess Newcastle fans don't see success and entertainment as mutually exclusive. Arsenal have managed it this season.

Under Sam we'd turn up at games to defend and sneak a 1-0 win. And look what happened there...

So you aren't allowed to be upset when your team loses? Just grateful that they are doing well?

95% of the games obviously were enjoyable to watch and fans were reveling in the success.

We've tried a manager who tries to get 1-0s and not only was his football philosophy pathetic but also didn't even achieve the 1-0s. So I do think most fans would rather see us win but the fact is, under Allardyce, we weren't.

What is your problem with Newcastle? Do you have to throw in insults with your arguments? Are you annoyed that you support an apathetic club? Or just enjoy venting to make yourself feel better?

Because at the moment you are coming across as very bitter, which must be slightly embarrassing.
