As above guys

As I have little or no knowledge on this area and from reading in here you guys seem to know your stuff, will I be able to get the above with £750?

Samsung perhaps??

Makes and model numbers would be great!

Thanks guys!

Same as mine TOSHIBA Regza 37" 37X3030DB 1080P can be yours for £649

Stunning lcd and great stand that comes with it :)

Cool I'll have a read up on that one....

Stand isn't that important to me as I have a 1 and a half year old and a 6 month old that love smacking my current 26" tv thats the size of a small car in the living room ......with anything they can lay their hands on :(

So I'll be putting the LCD up on the wall out of reach......and insuring it fully.....lol

I heard the Samsung panels are the same as the Sony Bravia?

Yeah I was going to suggest the Toshiba. Was looking at both the 37 and 42 inch ones today. Stunning picture, was better than all other TV's on display imo

40" Samsung M86/M87 in your range. Avoid the 37" Samsung, they use lower quality panels. AFAIK the Samsung M8x is the same panel in the 3000

I'm thinking the 37" Tosh myself.

Had some others I've been thinking about, such as the new LG 37", or the Samsung M86 40".

Philips have high input lag on most of their sets, so thats a no.

The Toshiba is said to have the best SD performance in its pricerange though!

Only issue with the Tosh though is it can't accept native res over VGA...I think HDMI and component are fine :)

for just over £1000 you can get a 46" 1080p samsung, i would personally save up another £250

Panasonic 42" PZ70 Plasma can now be had for £900 inc stand from certain websites and high street dealers

Second best display in the world, first of course being the Pioneer Kuro.

I bought one just before Christmas after upgrading from a 42" Tosh 1080 LCD

The difference is

Again same as most people its got to be the M87. Great TV for such a low price, lots of features such as 1080p, 24p 3x HDMI and one of the best black levels for LCD... you really cant go wrong

Hmmm it doesn't seem to always get favourable reviews that lg.

Even trustedreviews don't like it so much and they rate practically everything! even the 8600gt :p
