Ok so i bought this game earlier and thought after seeing so many positive reviews i went out and bought it, So far its a very good game and i love the combat system (long long time since i played a game of this calibur on a console). But after playing it for 2 hours, i realised where is the Fear i had of playing (and even today) Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3?

I didnt get scared, cautious or frightened by any of it. I will continue playing it as i am loving it so far, but does it get any scarier?

I take it you are not in the dark yet?! Just wait till it gets dark and parasites start popping out of heads!

p.s My best game ever :)

thanks, was just getting worried i wasnt going to get scared :D

p.s sorry for title, it can apply to PC version to.

Its too easy on the Wii.

Plus it is an entirely different game from Resi 1 2 and 3, they where puzzle games when all is said and done, with 4 being an action adventure game, you only once have to revisit an area of the game to progress, you never get stuck wondering what to do with a broach, a lighter and a mask with no sockets for the eyes.

One reason would be that in this game the enemies are not zombies but humans which is logically not as scary as having an undead person want to get a bite or two off you :p
As said though the game becomes more creepy later on where very strange things start to happen with those "humans". :P

This is true. The trade-off of the frankly ace control system is that it's also a lot quicker to respond with than the old Gamecube pad it was designed for. Part of the tension in the previous version (and indeed the older Resi's) was that the controls actually hindered you fighting the zombies off quickly, and made it all the 'scarier'. With the Wii it's so much easier to get headshots off quickly and take down a fair few enemies before they even get to you. You're actually best off starting that game in the hardest difficulty first time, I'd say.

However, there are still a few good tense/scary/creepy moments in there. Nearly all the boss fights are ace (El Gigante and creepy-screaming-guy-with-big-****-off-claws spring to mind), and there are some good set pieces to be found too.

Also, once you've finished it, try the mercenaries mode. It's two minutes (plus any extra time you earn in it) within a set level, with a constant stream of enemies running at you. Definitely gets the blood pumping.

Just a testament to how well the Wii can control that game ;) it was damn difficult on a Control Pad

Its still a great game.
But its too easy with that control system, you can literally go rock and roll on people on the later levels and not miss once.

I've completed my Wii copy and am now working my way through the mercenaries levels - have Krauser and Ada up on 5*s on each map and am nearly there with hunk and Wesker but Leon is going to be very tough !

Am interested to see what this ultimate weapon you unlock actually is ... as the Killer7 was an awesome pistol even without any upgrades ...

Will definitely play through on professional once I have this unlock ;)

Oh is there an unlock from Merc mode too? I didn't know that, might have to actually try now! (only got four stars on a couple of levels)

The laser you get for completing Professional is an absolute beast. I love the mine thrower though, that's definitely my favourite, cos of the delay between hitting them and the explosion.

Ooo so there is an unlock for completing professional mode too ... blimey this game has loads of little extras !

Yea you need to get 5*s or 60k + points with each character on each of the 4 levels on mercs to unlock the "hand cannon" as I've seen it called ...

Krauser has to be my favorite, just because of his arm ability - there isn't anything that can stand up to it so you just need to queue up some people and BAM! up goes your score multiplier!
